Kidding aside, we figured out that it was an issue with the receiver's wallet. We do, however, need a better error message.

Primal wallet is currently iOS only. Coming to Android very soon. At some point we will also have a web version.
In the meantime, you can use Alby to enable zaps via the web app.
Just bought The Bitcoin Standard and The Fiat Standard for @Marko directly from @saifedean (TheSaifHouse.com). Paid via lightning with my Primal wallet. Thanks for all the zaps Nostr, they do add up!

Wow, bummer that you're getting attacked too.
Ours was a classic network-level DDoS attack, where we were getting overwhelmed with requests from about 4000 different IPs. The requests were nonsensical, not trying to exploit our app, just overwhelm the network layer. We begrudgingly setup cloudflare as a temporary solution until we deploy something more sophisticated. Seems to have fixed the issue for now.

A DDoS attack on Primal’s infrastructure started around 8pm Belgrade time on New Year’s eve.
We are back for now, but our services might get disrupted again in the coming days.

It’s hard for me to contain my optimism for 2024. So many great projects, so much quality stuff in the pipeline. Next year is going to be insane.
Nostr wouldn’t be where it is without Damus. If this project were to get phased out, that would be a massive blow to Nostr.
Speaking strictly from Primal’s perspective, we *need* projects like Damus to be successful. If we are to make a credible argument that Nostr is different from the legacy platforms, users need to have many good choices of clients and services.
One year is a long time in Nostr terms, and I am optimistic that Will and the team will figure this out. But if/when Damus and other projects introduce paid tiers, please consider the bigger picture when deciding whether to sign up. You won’t be making a decision just for yourself. At this early stage your support might help some projects survive, as well as change the trajectory of Nostr itself.
