So when buying €4,99 worth of sats within Primal wallet ~36% is deducted (in-app purchase). Breakdown may be like: -Apple’s charge %30 -Lightning Fees ~%1 -Primal’s charge ~%5
Primal doesn't make any money on iOS in-app purchases of sats. Apple charges 15% in U.S. and Canada (30% elsewhere), Stike charges 1%. Apple might apply additional sales tax per their local app store rules. These aren't cheap sats. The option is there so that newly onboarded users can experience Nostr zapping without friction. We deliberately limit these in-app purchases to $5 at a time and $50 max per day. Note that the "receive" function on the Primal wallet works as soon as you activate it. Users who already own sats can load their wallet that way and zap away! ⚡️
The question is, why people still support Apple?
I’m curious why it’s necessary to put personal info inc. email in to activate the wallet? Is there an alternative way to zap ⚡️ like using zapplepay with alby on Damus?
