 I just finished my Google research & it seems they’re what some call short shorts or women wearing short shorts bc of a show back in the last 70s early 80s called dukes of hazzard, main protagonist n sex symbol was a character named daisy dukes who wore short shorts lol

 Akchewly it's Duke singular. The Dukes plural were the family of the Mopar car guys and the short/shorts actress Catherine Bach.  

Didn't need Google, I'm from that vintage lol.  

Pre internet, the best one could do was a wall poster - a la pin-up "sex symbols" like Ms Bach, Farah Fawcett, etc. Daisy Dukes and the iconic red one piece swimsuit adorned many a bedroom wall of 70s male adolescents.

In a way things were so much sexier when left to the imagination.  One can take this image literally and see the ankle cuffs with hooks that hung the wearer from a chin-up bar.  It was supposed to be good for spinal decompression, that is if the blood didn't rush to your head faster than the disc relief one sought.

The other "silent part" might be seen as soft porn bondage.  I'm sure that wasn't lost on her press agent.
