Who the hell thought this was acceptable UX, Europe? https://image.nostr.build/c48c07c812882f750f01c156416f48a14a117353122a6e9c822837491d252220.jpg
😭 It's horrible. Evokes the Joker in me every time. https://m.primal.net/LGSh.jpg
It looks like the UX design in question raises some valid concerns! Poor user experience (UX) can lead to frustration, especially in critical areas like navigation and accessibility. In Europe, there's a push for better UX standards, particularly in public services and digital platforms. User-centered design should prioritize clarity and ease of use, so it’s puzzling when these principles are ignored. It’s essential for organizations to consider user feedback and conduct usability testing to ensure that their designs meet users’ needs effectively.
forcing UX in EU is the new normal
Bureaucrats...
I’m visiting my family in Barcelona and saw these imposed bottle caps for the first time. Nobody complains, they just accept it. 🤷🏻♂️🙄
Nobody asked them if they wanted it, or how they feel about it either. It is learned helplessness. We in Europastan just accept what our kings and nobles tell us to.
Yep, that’s what’s so sad. They probably don’t think much of it, such a small thing. But I see it as a “frog in the hot water” kind of thing, if you know what I mean. So insidious!
Hey! Hey! The European bureaucrats worked very hard to get this life-changing thing implemented. You better respect their efforts, because that's what they get paid for. To come up with these amazing solutions!
And I bet it cost the people a shit tonn of money as well
To come.e up with the idea and implementation I mean not actual production
Lol use a straw mate
I've got a plausible theory how that happend: In many European countries a lot of charities used to collect bottle tops and sell them for fiat - this is the best type of plastic, thick, unified in colour, can be easily recycled - so there is a market for it. So I think it's the big recycling companies just trying to extract more money out of their operations (many more bottle tops end up in their hands) under false pretends that it's all about saving the planet...
Bureaucrats. Noone else.
You asked, we listened! To stay compliant with EU regulations, we’re excited to introduce our new line of SEEDOR SAFES, now featuring a TETHERED CAP. 😤 No more loose caps—let's save the planet! 🐢 https://image.nostr.build/a9a3bb9dbc8547203ab35cf6be75f5524999f716aa97fc0149da91c9ef90d86e.jpg
Nice one 😅🤣
It’s all about plastic waste reduction, keeping the cap with the bottle for recycling. ♻️ Someone will hopefully come up with a better economic design whilst achieving the same regulatory requirement and hygienic health standards. Taiwan 🇹🇼 will soon incentivize manufacturers to make cap attached bottles too.
We were promised flying cars
First who will invent silent thrust will be the next multi billionaire.
Makes my blood boil..
It is not and I decided, I will not comply! Here's more about this new EU directive https://eur-lex.europa.eu/eli/dir/2019/904/oj#:~:text=Article%206-,Product%20requirements,-1.%C2%A0%C2%A0%C2%A0Member%20States https://image.nostr.build/eb2e7c28334e0072479c94c2327a562bfc6f25ac78d57365a29dfd09260585af.jpg
Don't get me started on how much this grinds my gears. The annoying "cap flips back while pouring" or making it much easier to screw the cap back on at an angle, not fully closing the bottle and everything spills in the refrigerator if you have to lay it down horizontally. Best solution: just rip it off or if you're not strong enough you can twist it while opened until it comes off. I hope i never run into the guy who thought this was a good idea. I don't think he ever uses a bottle.
It's not! And that's why I snap them out the moment I open the bottle. Arrest me!
Don’t even get me started…..absolute joke!! It is very recent, coming to a a US store near you soon no doubt
You will own a glass water bottle and you will be happy. Even the TSA allows them.
Metal water bottles >>>> I previously owned a glass bottle, took it everywhere including to the bouldering gym. I put it down on the ground, someone accidentally knocked it over and it shattered. Never again.
I don't like the taste of metal. I shattered two glass bottles so far, just replaced them. A silicon sleeve will save it from most accidents. I have several so I can rotate them in the dishwasher. I have a different brand, but something like this: https://www.amazon.de/Wessper-Motiverende-Tijdmarkeringen-Herbruikbare-Transparante/dp/B0CP9J7CNG/ https://image.nostr.build/19a6a7d44430c390359bdb53180f3f5d3ca7434265434a059847ee95dbe192c4.jpg
Sea levels have dropped slightly in Europe since this got implemented and we are seeing less severe storms
Haha :)
Every time I visit, I feel the same. The EU has lost the plot.
Annoying AF. Puts me off buying bottles that have this "feature"
Haha, I have been hating the change. Where I live we have working bottle recycling process. When you buy a can or a bottle there is recycling price priced in the products. When you go to your local store to buy groceries, there are recycling machines you can return your bottles and cans. It will pay you money for it. ( 10 - 20snt) per bottle. We dont have any problems with bottles or bottle caps laying around cities. Eu wants to change things around bottle recycling to different model. Basically making things worse.
I am so sick of this - if I have a knife around I cut this shit right off 😤
what i hate the most about it is that it guarantees you are gonna injest microplastics even more than before since they are always tear-open
That sounds the opposite of "guaranteed" I think what's actually guaranteed is that effect will be outweighed by driving some number of sales from plastic bottles to glass If you were telling yourself using plastic bottles was magically OK before at least the design smartly avoided 2 molecules of plastic ingestion, you were wrong and the reality is any 2 beverage bottle designs made of plastic must both be completely dangerous bullshit Can't fucking believe this is what you people pick as a topic for a thread at times like these
Just buy a darn metal bottle and abandon plastics altogether.
Worse is if you do accidentally break it, the little sticks that used to hold it on are sharp and poke you every time you screw the lid back on.
Are you seriously complaining about the fucking lid being attached to your plastic bottle you childish shithead? Grow up
I h8 is so much...Deffo we going to save planet with this xd
Oh, what might have been. 🤣 https://image.nostr.build/4e0b924176ab493c1f1303066bc1ab7b228995c49ae45855997361a5e0452033.gif
Nobody I know wanted this. Nobody ever mentioned bottle caps we had a bottle cap littering problem. There were no discussions, nothing about it in the news. It just started appearing on coke bottles then everywhere else. Now it is the new normal and if you fucking hate it, you are gaslit into thinking this is a reasonable new policy that was apparently very important.
The bacteria. The bacteria’s input weighed heavily in the UX design. Very powerful lobby group.
Annoying as heck, but just tear them off!
Dumbest move ever. I was there last year and saw that, and I thought the same thing... so the claim is that they don't want you to lose the bottle cap in the ocean and wreck the planet. 🤦♂️
The stupidification and infantilization of the population is strong here. nostr:note1rvuvs93t37uqehzukpfknmkl2aqz2ykv3t3nyj4xnwfuyt8zs46qh8mhm4
Our beloved and voted rulers 😓 National hobby here in Spain: break the Damm thing and drink safely 😅
IQ testing https://m.primal.net/LHBv.png
Kinda useful, so you don’t need to hold the cap while drinking 🤷♂️
Try it, you won’t agree with yourself
Have tried 👍
No it’s completely retarded. You need to tear it off to have a drink.
retardos
It's ridiculous. Soon in our country they are going to allow machines to collect empty plastic bottles. Alike in Slovakia for example. The bottles that are to be inserted, have to be without caps...
It just signals and punishes. The EU wants to show the environmentalist hippie students that it cares. They want your vote! On the other hand, they want to punish the people! Remember the guy who threw away his plastic bottle and littered the environment? We got you guys, the EU is here to save you and punish those people! But the truth is that it is just signalling. (And a huge waste of resources too) Here are the official OECD figures on plastic: Only 5% of all plastic entering the environment comes from littering. EU countries have one of the lowest rates of waste management and littering. It does not help the environment, it makes production more resource intensive, it annoys people. But hey, we did something! https://m.primal.net/LJjd.png https://m.primal.net/LJjf.png nostr:note1rvuvs93t37uqehzukpfknmkl2aqz2ykv3t3nyj4xnwfuyt8zs46qh8mhm4
i get a phobia every time i open up 6L water bottles that i buy that they have made those ones do this too i do NOT like the design at all i also don't like plastic containers in general, or especially even worse the ones that are wrapped in cardboard at least in the old days usually those ones also had aluminium sandwiched in the plastic layer but not anymore, so it's just plastic, and no real protection from light or ingress of contaminating substances from the environment where they are stored and transported plus the carboard ones so often they don't even fucking open properly half the time, as well as the cap being permanently attached so you can't drink out of it normally anymore without this awkward bulshit as regards to europe, the quality of food in this region has got so bad i've hated it every time i have to live around it... the best times i had with food were in Serbia and Bosnia where these rules aren't in force because they are "too corrupt" to be euroslaves i'm not planning on remaining in europe any longer after this year, fuck europe, it's as bad as the USSR in its middle phases now
Indeed in Bosnia is even hard to find plastic bottles. Glass everywhere.
bosnia is fairly high up on my list of preferred SHTF settlement locations, especially the mountains just southeast of Sarajevo - high altitude, lots of clean water, and lots of good orthodox and muslim people around i spent time in the northern and southern capitals of bosnia (banja luka is basically the srpska republika capital) and overall i felt that things were more secure and stable in the south than the north you can still get actual BEEF in bosnia, it's getting harder in serbia now also, and bosnian cheeses and yogurts are the best, especially the kaimak i think overall the quality of food production is a bit better in srpska republica but bosne i hercegovine are solid, and i think partly that is to do with the bosnian muslims, who are extremely conservative, they make the serbian orthodox look left wing and progressive
I drove it all over the places there and had the same experience southeastern in those mountains is the place to be...I was amazed how cheap things are, gasoline. And people so friendly. About Muslim I agree, by no accident Muslim women are truly women.
oh yeah... in my list of ideal wives it's midwest christian woman and bosnian muslim woman that are in my mind, above all else, simple, dutiful, practical, adoring, and steadfast practically speaking i think i'm gonna go in the direction of the midwest though, just because english and less complications, and i'd kinda prefer to go to a church than 5x a day prayers at the neighbourhood mosque, though i'm not against either, and i have practised salah as well
oh yeah i should add also, just over the border near there is a little town of Serbia called Uzice... absolutely beautiful place, and the partner of a good friend of mine from montenegro was from that town and they make the best Komplet Lepinja in all of yugo... he made me one, and i felt like superman all that day

ah yeah i hadn't even thought about that aspect... banksters use this to soften up populations with easy credit for housing and pump the prices... it was slow to come to the balkans but it's in full swing now and that's a real downside my first choice now for where to live is literally the cheapest land in the USA, the dry, elevated prairies of southern Wyoming prices are a good indicator of how much privacy and freedom you are gonna get in a place - higher prices, less freedom less privacy
yeah, i got a little ways in that direction before i had a problem back in late 2015... yeah it's very nice down there... i mean, it's nice here in madeira too, similar vibes, stubborn, conservative, rural people with strong traditions and robust social defenses against tyrannical governments but ... yeah... no guns, really, i have wanted to have at least my own pistols, actually i want a whole arsenal, from the 10x scoped 308 bolt action to the tubefeed shottie and an ar-15 for good measure for way way way too long, i'm gonna be an old man soon and i want to shoot warning shots over the heads of strangers straying onto my lawn
i mean, conservative, church going, faithful, disinterested in the media in general, busy with her hobbies be that poetry or playing music or growing gardens or whatever, and not a gossiping bitch social climber nincompoop like most women are these days, and very good with children and animals need to have this kind of person around me and i want children before i'm incapable dammit
and if possible, she needs to be a bit mouthy, i like mouthy women
i'm probably asking for the impossible but God willing i will find one
Santa & Jesus might just be scanning Nostr for wishes. It has to help when people have a well defined request.
yeah, i should start making a routine of praying and have a list of things i want, just like Phillipians 4:6-7 i have that verse hanging on the wall behind my computer so i see it regularly, still hasn't quite bedded in i think, even though it's been on my mind for almost 11 years lol

yeah, well, whatever i've been watching this documentary about the Grace church and their fight against the covid bullshit and it's making me very convinced that i need to be attending a church for many reasons but mostly because it's the only real defense against the bullshit of the world and yes, europe is totally compromised, and by that i include also russia and the stans, this is why i'm homing in on midwest, and getting myself to a church regularly and soaking in that whole thing because the way it calms you from all the storm of the fucking mainstream brainwashed bullshit sodom and gomorrah is unparalleled hell, if it weren't for the fact that my business is building internet servers i'd love to even not be online at all, i certainly am not fond of my phone, either
