Ugh, I’m not sure how long I can keep up this carnivore lifestyle. I’m only on day 4 and I’m already sick of meat and eggs. I’ve never been a steak eater and having so much now kinda puts me off. Chicken, pork, same story - I’m ok having some here and there but as a core part of the meal every time is kinda tiring. I can’t imagine doing this for a month. I do like that I’m not eating all the other sugar junk. I feel like the health benefits are great but I miss variety of foods. I like salads. I like my breakfast skillets 😆 I’ll keep going for my goal of 8 days to see how it goes but not looking optimistic 😔
now do a water fast for three days
It's pretty simple; eat wholesome unprocessed foods that require work to make. And, fucking eat a salad.
So… meat. Everything else is processed. Literally everything.
Interesting. I've almost exclusively been eating ground beef + tomato sauce (so basically spaghetti without the noodles) for a year now 😆 It hits the spot every time for me, I never needed variation in my food.
8 o clock in the morning I'll have fish 🐟 and a rice cake 10 o clock I'll have fish 🐟 12 o clock I'll have fish 🐟 and a rice cake 2 o clock I'll have fish 🐟 4 o clock I'll have fish 🐟 and a rice cake I'll train then I'll have fish 🐟 Then I get home and ill have fish 🐟 and a rice cake 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Agreed. I like my leafy greens and fresh veggies a lot. If I didn’t have kids who aren’t quite there yet, I could simplify to very very few carbs, some high quality protein (not always meat), and a ton of vegetables - cut out a lot of the filler and “punt” meals that you go through with kids. I think much of it is how your body responds to a diet - some people’s body and blood type responds really well to carnivore, keto etc and some don’t. Just don’t ask me to give up seasoning my food well 😂
Just avoid refined sugar (best you can), processed food, gluten, and basically anything that isn't in its natural form. Progress, not perfection.
I don't eat meat at all, so not exactly relevant, but I found it easier to lower my carbs by increasing fats. I think they hit similar spots in my brain. And then I upped my protein in whey for survival since I don't exactly enjoy it as food lol
My point is that keto may fit your taste more if carnivore isn't. Couple that with one meal per day and you'd probably achieve your goals anyway.
Western culture likes to prentend that there's a single template for all humans. However, there are different metabolisms, hormone ratios, and intesitinal flora/fauna, that make us not medically or nutritionally identical. The real key to health is paying attention to what your body is telling you. It's good to experiment though, and part of experimenting is observation. Also, it sometimes takes a while to "convert" to a new metabolism, body chemistry, etc, if that has been determined to be needed.
I'm behind you 100% whatever you choose to do. Let me know how you want to be encouraged and I will. You didn't ask for my advice, so I won't annoy you with it. Godspeed
Day 4 is the hardest. It does get easier— hang in there.
I did it for 3 months! Lost 15 kilograms and then to all of the sudden I folded 😬 Now trying to do it again
I bet you’ll learn some things you can keep at afterward. Or you’ll at least learn how sweet fruit and veggies can be when you eliminate the sugar.
I'm not gonna lie. I thought about you while I was eating my ribeyes tonight, and I come here and see this lol. First week of any big change is always tough. Get through the hump and see what happens. I won't try to sway you one way or another. You know what works best for you, so do whatever that makes you happy.
Why are you not eating fruits & veggies, which are full of vitamins and anti-oxidants? I was under the impression that eating too much meat could lead to getting gout? Also, you’re probably gonna gain the weight back if you stop the diet , so it’s not sustainable.
Why are you wasting poisonous plants filled with cancer causing industrial byproducts?
Plants are GOOD for the body! Especially broccoli 🥦 (no cheese on top!) You seem a little hostile to me!
yeah I may re-introduce veggies back after a week or so
Good. Fruits, esp blueberries and other berries are esp good for the body. Fyi, Fad diets don’t work cuz will gain weight back. Instead, Lifestyle needs to change along with exercising regularly! If you wanna be healthy and live a long time, the Mediterranean Diet is supposed to be the BEST! Think not much meat, lotta fish, (extra virgin) olive oil, fruits & plants, nuts, etc.
Also, people who live on Okinawa Island live the longest (along with Mediterranean people) so obvi, they have figured out a formula for longevity. https://www.bbc.co.uk/food/articles/mediterranean_diet

This is complete and utter BS if you're not eating crappy meat and drinking alcohol to excess. Ugh.
I don’t think so. I know a guy who developed gout and kidney stones and was hospitalized. He was in a LOT of pain. We are no longer friends tho cuz filtered out.
You for sure need a cheat day once a week. Also 100% carnivore is pretty brutal. Always feels like something is missing. After your 8 days, add in some fruits and veggies.
Listen to your body. Every single one of us is different. The only thing you need to find out if you are still conditioned or if you can trust your body signals. Everything is dependent on everything else. Society is rotten so many things impact us in a similar and at the same time unique way.
If you want some encouragement and help, I can connect you to a carnivore chat on Telegram. DM me for the link if interested.
Every recommendation I've read says stick with it for 3 months. You sound like you need more fat in your food. Are you using sea salt?
I don’t have hunger issues. I’m just not feeling like eating meat constantly
Are you not wanting to eat meat or just not hungry? I think there's a difference that I'm discovering as I eat carnivore-ish.
Just the sameness is meh 😑 pork chop meh 😑 steak ok occasionally but too often meh 😑
Everything in moderation is a great advise when it comes to food as well. Don't overdo it and it be much easier. https://media3.giphy.com/media/3wogjgqFfr2z6/giphy.gif
The first week or so is rough. I was the same. After the initial hump, though, I ended up craving steak every day. A year and a half in now. I occasionally 'cheat' but it's never as satisfying as I think it's gonna be, wrecks my guts as well.
bruh @SBakerMD
