We still use it for otp, so i doubt we would just remove it unless someones wants to rewrite our otp code. It’s easy for people who don’t have existing code around to say just remove it.
starting the design the DM view for notedeck to look like signal/imessage. not sure on a release date yet. the plan is to have signal-grade comms on first release. nip04 will be supported but deprecated.
I won't create them by default but I will still support receiving them. I don't like the idea of missed DMs. some OTP systems still use it and may for while
just had a surreal moment in notedeck where I was composing two replies at once in different columns and sent them both at the same time. so much power.
damus doesn't depend on any proprietary non-spec'd infrasture, it's a pure nostr client. so it will continue to work when primal goes down or runs out of money
if its working for you then fine, use that. it doesn't even work on my account. I also run my own node and zap with that, I can't do that on primal. there are plently of reasons to use a more decentralized client. I'm ok with the slightly worse UX for now, at least we can slowly make UX better with better L2 tech while retaining our core tentants around decentralization.
I chose the npub/nsec format for keys (bech32). Before they were just raw hex for both. I did it because I accidentally pasted my nsec thinking it was an npub. You couldn’t tell the difference.
