I simple can't fathon that some people uses Discord willingly. It's MS Teams with blings.
Not private, centralized, shit app in every way imaginable, deorganized, laggy, intrusive...
I'm back after a small week break from here... and the world is looking like a giant flying turd: Amazon on fire, War in Israel, War in Ukraine (Slava Ukraini!!!!), War against home office, War against middle classes... but guess what?
Life in my little corner of the world is still rather normal, and I still can enjoy a nice cup of coffee. Enjoy life folks!!
This is how it works on dictatorships.

Given to where Google is heading to, those who complain too loudly will get the boot.

Would be a trully wonderful discussion if someone asks him to PRECISELY define what he considers a "troll". I bet a zap that it will pretty quickly degenerate to weasel words and ambiguous definitions like "hate speak" and such.
This mentality of him is pure brain rot.
Sometimes I do believe it's broken by design.
The lack of even the slightest of thought on how banks do customer service and handles security must be on purpose, even if I fail what purpose that may be.
I just looooove to send gerber for manufacturing at Jlcpcb that quote has to be corrected (and more has to be paid).
Not their fault, but mine. I seriously need to learn their quote interface better.
This is genuinely worrying. I believe this is another case of corporate Linux shills using security as a excuse to further their takeover of the whole ecosystem.
Basically, instead of using ages old manual review of recipes to guarantee from where the source if being fetch to be build, with integrity assured with a simple hash check, that worked quite well for all major distro repositories... they want to create a public wall of shame to force developers to officially adopt Flatpak.
This is just as insidious as Canonical quietly replacing debian packages with snap ones.
At best, this is laziness speaking: they don't want to review build recipes, and instead, they believe in automatic trust of who can publish, giving up of actual manual review (a stupid and unsafe mindset to the boot). At worse, they want to make the process bureaucratic to gatekeep who can publish.
Funny thing, I just fried two RP2040 yesterday in a attempt to build my own split mechanical keyboard (corne by foostan: https://github.com/foostan/crkbd/blob/main/docs/corne-cherry/v3/buildguide_en.md ).
In my defence, used pro micro rp2040 because it looked compatible enough with atmel based pro micro boards, and there's a firmware for rp2040 at QMK project.

Their algorithm is so used with passive users just being spoon fed recommended crap from "curated" and sponsored content, that when someone actually interact with their platforms as a normal human being, it believes that must be a bot.
Facebook profile pages these days are just a enormous graveyard.
Took them long enough.
Now I wonder what kind of tactics NVidia will use to keep breaking compatibility.

What's happening in Venezuela is beyond words.
Indeed, this situation has persisted since Hugo Chavez's leadership, but it's notable that the current government has shed any inhibitions about openly displaying its true nature.
And highlights well why technologies like Nostr is a must. And messengers like Jami, Simplex or even Matrix to have some measure of privacy.
Defend the right to stand up for yourself and the freedom to critique politicians with your life.
No government must ever be trusted. They are just managers, not saviors.

Usually it requires civil wars.
There's (very) rare cases of authoritarian governments steeping down with relatively low levels of violence, like the fall of Brazilian military government in 1985.
Maduro definitely is one that will not just go away.
People should read Ludwig von Mises more.

Yes, that would be nice. But unenforceable in practice.
The best that we have is the company holding the data going down, or the random guy that made a copy forgetting to backup before a PC format.
When sorting people and putting them on lists even went wrong in Europe, right? Oh... I remember when! wow... yes, I remember =(
These guys never learn.
I can completely relate to that.

It's disappointing to experience this issue with Samsung services on my S23: the Store doesn't display the updates it just alerted me to, and the spinner that never ends indicates a possible delay or congestion.
Remarkable, F-Droid, a repository sustained by volunteer efforts and donations, works better than this... contraption from the almighty Samsung.
If Samsung is not willing to actually invest in their own software and infrastructure, please, just dump everything on Play Store and be gone with it!
We can't really turn them off completely. Take X for example: it pretty become the de facto press release channel not only for elected politicians, but for entire government departments.
With this whole CrowdStrike shitshow with Windows, I wonder how many people are dying because of this.
After all, it isn't just airports and banks and such, but there's also hospitals and emergency dispatch services that went down.
This piece of software, intended to bring security to companies, inadvertently caused greater financial and material harm to customers WAAAAAAY beyond any external attacks typically inflict.
Be aware giving kernel-level access to pseudo-security garbage sold to clueless IT managers. That's the lesson here.

If just to transport data around without working on the files directly on the stick, I would go with exFAT for compatibility reasons.
Otherwise, I would go with ext4 (that oddly don't show there) since its really hard do corrupt, and sudden disconnections are a problem with removable drives.
Careful there. F2FS has a notoriously weak FSCK (nearly useless) for recovering the file system in the event of failures. It's the type of filesystem truly intended for use on embedded systems with read-only storage or devices with a battery attached. Using it on a removable device is inviting trouble.
If you genuinely don't want ext4 for some reason, at least opt for btrfs, which has more developed user space tools.
