I think this hurts because it’s true.
Good software takes a lot of time and effort. Needs to be able to financially sustain itself so it can go the distance.
There’s just not enough funding so we have a lot of half-complete hobby projects.

I’m very grateful to those putting in the work, with or without funding.
At this stage, I think it’s more important we tinker and discover new use cases than make polished copycats of things that already exist.
But if the goal is mass adoption, user experience will be most important.

I don't know why I upgraded cause I've literally been burned by this dozens of times.
I use hey.com for that exact purpose. You have to screen email addresses in or out of your inbox the first time they contact you. Helps make sure that the only emails that hit your receive are from people you know and trust.
