For actual news I've turned to my collection of independent reporters on substance, patreon and YouTube. It's a constant challenge to seek out diverse yet not unhinged perspectives.
GM. After taking a tour of the various social networks I gotta say what I appreciate about Nostr most is that people here are fiercely independent and allergic to having their experience shaped by anyone who is not them. That makes this the place for raw reverse chron and truly organic unstoppable virality. No amount of VC funding can replicate that.
So sorry for this loss. May he rest in peace. Your post shows that you are better equipped than most to deal with this. DFW and Camus also fascinate me and add to the richness of living each day in as much peace and joy as possible.
I like the idea of data, code and money with which to execute said code. I imagine a population of processors mining a data stream for embedded ecash bounties. Currently humans hold the purse strings but what if the data has money in it?
They win when you value their art. There's more than enough non-corporate stuff out there to be able to live a fulfilling (and probably richer) cultural life.
The only way we go much higher from here is for people to believe that there is no better place to put their wealth than Bitcoin. Especially holders and those with credit because those are the only ones who can sell.
This cycle you have not only corporate treasuries but also sovereign funds taking profits extremely easily. That experience of selling and seeing the missed gains takes a decade to realize.
Probs similar to nostr. Lots of hobbyist infrastructure which can work quite well. The bigger question for me is how will its central registry handle state attack?

Ok so the DHT is the BitTorrent mainnet but it's only used for small signed DNS packets. What are the chances BT clients filter out these as unwanted traffic?

Part of the beauty of social interaction is realizing how wrong any of your assumptions were. What languages might they speak? How long (have they been here, are they staying)?

The guest gives their spiel and he asks some good questions. Here he is somewhat quietly doing Nostr right. Not just cross posting but boosting native stuff.
