This is the next step in levelling up my brewing game - reverse osmosis water.

Looking forward to seeing how much difference it makes to the finished product. Hopefully it gets rid of that “home brew” taste, which wasn’t too bad from my tap water but I think the hops are really going to appreciate no chlorine!

I’ll be remineralising and adding yeast nutrient, still need to do a bit of research on that! The next beers I’ve got lined up to brew are using kveik voss yeast, haven’t got temp controlled ferm chamber yet, that’s the next levelling up!
Certainly beats my initial setup where I cooled to wort in the bath tub!!
That’s what I’ve got to research, I think it’s sodium chloride, gypsum and something else. Just going to follow the brew sheet for a typical ipa water chemistry.
It worked! Copper coil is much better tho 🤣

Can’t wait to see how my homegrown hops turn out in a brew 🍻
I can’t upload videos on Primal, also have issues with images where you upload and it disappears after it’s uploaded. Is there a workaround? Anybody else get this?
The Guardian is excited to announce our arrival on the decentralized social media platform Nostr....
Haha! Nostr needs more parody accounts!
 What are everybody’s plans for $100K ?
A large dram of this 🥃

Nice! Sounds nice, I’m no whisky expert, I just go by the label and the tasting notes 😂
In my experience though if you spend over $100 they’re very tasty so hiding it was a good call!
Awesome! You've out hodled your family too 🤣

Will you be able to hodl it for another dram at $1M though?
Great conversation. Not convinced that political engagement is the solution unless it’s a concerted effort to radically shrink the state. Apathy is a big problem, people will only wake up when they’re forced to.

We’re in the “trust us” phase

brb, just gotta put this baby in a bath for a couple of hours

Well that hit the spot! Happy ATH day, many more to come!

Feral kitten in training for the inevitable constant downpours this winter! It’s been weirdly dry the last month or so considering I live round the corner from the rainiest village in the UK

Maybe the public sector is actually required as a sort of welfare for those who don’t provide much value 🤣
 ✅ Fact Checked
This is true! Certainly going to be interesting to see what Musk can do. I’m guessing a little but a long way from ancap!
 Damn, we just blew straight through 80081.35 ( * ) ( * )

Classic 90s! Don’t make em like that anymore 😂
We just had ICQ and MSN messenger back then, the good old days 🙂

What comes first? 100k or this guy letting me pet him

Haha, maybe! I think 100k, cats are tricky bastards! Also I want to crack open my fancy whisky 🤣
 Cheers to that 🍻
If that happens we definitely are living in a simulation 🤣
Haha, who knows! We’re defo getting close 🚀🐈
Any DIY pro Nostriches out there? I want to lay an engineered wood floor for the whole ground floor in my house (46m2 of kitchen/lounge/dining) but the transition between lounge/dining slopes down 60mm over 1m.

Not sure if engineered wood will work for a slope like that and levelling the floor isn’t really an option.

#asknostr #diystr

I’m thinking adding a little step is the way to go. There’s a few flooring height differences in the house with steps, being a 17th century welsh farmhouse nothing is straight or flat!
I really need to stop going on Twitter. The amount of commie retards on there cheering on inheritance tax on farmers and whatever other tax they can get their grubby hands on is depressing.
Spot the feral kitten deciding if it’s safe to eat the steak leftovers this close to a human!

 😂
Didn’t quite have the confidence with me sitting outside, slow progress with this guy!

The real kicker in the U.K. budget will be when the looters realise they’re sitting on a large stack of Bitcoin and decide to sell it to pay for more rainbow zebra crossings or public sector diversity training
I have a feeling those inflation forecasts are too low and growth forecasts too high 😂
For long-form podcasts, do you prefer when pauses and filler words (um, like, etc) are edited out...
No editing! The podfather wouldn’t approve!
You’ll just have to drop a few “we’ll edit that out in post” and never actually do it like No Agenda 😂
I've been putting off buying a nice bottle of Scotch for $100k but I'm going for it. I apologise in advance for the big dump and unreasonably long wait for $100k this causes
 I have 4 nieces

I decided last year that I would buy a certain amount in Bitcoin and stop givin...
I did the same for my nieces/nephew. Haven’t put any conditions in place though, they already lost the keys once, I kept a copy as I thought that would happen!
Yeah, that's probably a wise set of conditions! I didn't want to put too many conditions on a present. If they want to sell it or lose it somehow then they'll learn an important lesson.
Better to learn it young! I know when I was younger I never listened to advice and had to learn things the hard way!
 Bitcoin: nearing all time highs

Don't hate me but I've been trading that new shitcoin MSTR with a very small % of my portfolio 🤣
In my fiat coding job I'm so bored of the "current tech stack" which changes every 5 minutes. I gave up trying to keep up years ago, maybe I'm just a shit coder but my eyes glaze over everytime we discuss which new tech stack we're gonna use on the next project.

Every new bullshit NextJS/React/Redux/Remix/Intertia bit of nonsense I use has shit docs and doesn't do the basics, like I just want to add a prefix URL to all assets or set a base path for API requests - nah, can't do that and Google doesn't know how to do it either.

#nerdrant
Haha, I wouldn’t want to bore you with the details! I think fiat encourages “the current thing” in the dev world, lots of cash flowing around to create crappy new frameworks. Just making devs have to constantly learn new things!
Yeah, to a degree but it just seems to change to fast to get good at one tech stack before another “better” one comes along.

I’m just a bit jaded having spent 20years in the job! Working on a bright orange exit strategy this cycle!
I’d guess the rumours will be worse than what they actually do. It’s already really bad, the Tories reduced the allowance massively!
Working on the control cavity for the Tele. A lot of trial and error going on!

This is about as close as it’ll let me get right now. Hopefully it’ll learn humans aren’t all scary soon…
https://m.primal.net/Ljoj.jpg
Good tip! Can you freeze and then defrost to sous vide in the same bag?
Nice, I’ll have to try buying in bulk off the local butcher. Might save a bit of money with my steak habit! I guess just freezing in the SV bags I’ve got would work
I’ve got a feral kitten in my garden, have been feeding it and trying to get it used to my presence but it’s still very skittish. Not sure whether to try and trap it or continue to feed it while I sit there. It’s about 6months so taming at this stage is probably going to be pretty hard work!
Getting to the tricky bit now!

What am I making and do I need more clamps?

#woodworking #woodstr
https://m.primal.net/LXZN.jpg
Haha, always need more clamps! It's a guitar body, or hopefully will be!
It’s a test piece really, I’ve got some nicer wood earmarked but I’ve never made one before so doing a pine/oak top test first.
I'm still learning too, guitars normally use "tone wood" which would be things like alder/basswood/ash etc. I've seen lots of people making Pinecasters though so hopefully this one sounds ok. The forming will be pretty much the same though regardless of wood type.
Spent quite a few hours of my weekend fixing issues in my fiat job.

It’s funny you just get a “thank you” from managers who’ve done sweet FA on the weekend, and most week days too.

Must hold back the urge to say “well I’ll take your ‘thank you’ to the Time Machine to get that time I spent back then”
My Sunday afternoon was spent listening to “The Sovereign Individual” audiobook and stamping ...
 Welcome 👋
I also finished the Sovereign Individual this weekend, great book! I think I need to re-listen at some point to absorb all the wisdom!
First go at riving a log today. Was a sweet chestnut cut down last year, too big for my chainsaw mill.

It was easier than it thought it would be! Now to figure out how to mill it into boards on the bandsaw…

That’s very nice! Lovely wood too. I’m currently drying some beech boards I milled from a tree I cut down in the garden, looking forward to building something.
I was pleasantly surprised by the grain! I’ve got a bookmatched pair earmarked for an electric guitar body.

Which app do you use for nostr communities?
https://m.primal.net/Knjl.jpg
 Thanks, I’ll check that out!

I think this beech is quite dark because it’s wet and newly cut, it’s mellowed out a bit now. Hopefully it doesn’t crack and warp too much and I’ve cut it thick enough to allow for shrinkage!
Nice one, I estimated 5% radial shrinkage so should be ok as long as I don’t have to take too much off to flatten it!

The squash plant I bought with sats at the Bitcoin Beach Retreat is going well!

idk about anybody else but I’ve spent an excessive amount of time thinking about the possible memes when we get to $80,085
 Not even $80,081.35?
threw out decade-old boxes of collected wires & adaptors

so far my universe hasn’t collapsed 🙏
Never throwing mine out, what if I need a parallel cable for a dot matrix printer?!
also improvised weapon uses in that case 🤣
Remember when the UK taxpayer bailed out the banks to the tune of £137bn? Not only did that trig...
That's childs play compared to the £400bn spent to "save granny". Funny they never talk about that!
Some of the most annoying and inconsiderate airbnb guests are the ones who turn the thermostat up to 24C 4 times a day.

Literally smashing all the glasses in the kitchen would be less costly than this behaviour.
Going to be policing the thermostat all week with this people.

The higher energy bills go, the more people will take the piss when in self catering accommodation - “oh isnt this lovely, I can sit in shorts and T-shirt at someone else’s expense”

I wish I knew how unprofitable Airbnb was before getting into it. Not even making minimum wage with the labour that goes into it.
Well, enough ranting about Airbnb. Advice: don't do Airbnb, it's not profitable even if you think you're "making money" with the NgU of the property and more guests than you think will take the piss.
While I have a big orchard (about 50 trees) I haven’t had a large garden in the last few years....
It takes a lot of time to grow your own food but it is satisfying AF. I’d like some chickens too but hilariously the UK now makes you get a license for that!
Good haul of hops this year. Planted the ryzomes 2yrs ago.

Looking forward to making some beer with this!
