After some time becoming more and more disillusioned with VSCode, and finding myself using plain ...
@de59566c That name is based if that’s what it’s called. 😂
The best form of version control.
@misterjesus Yeeting zip files onto an Apache server with FTP while in prod is where a generation of warrior souls were forged.

@2365cd39 @Alex Gleason I was thinking more along the lines of connecting your own developer account to your instance (either personal or community).

Simply add your API credentials in the admin area and a share checkbox option shows up in the WYSIWYG editor with an option to cross-post to various profiles on platforms you have connected to.

@2365cd39 @Alex Gleason I believe you can still pay for API on X. Minds is moving towards deeper Fediverse interoperability and Meta recently announced plans to do the same.

I guess I’m not as much of a purist as some. I see those other legacy platforms as a place to tease shorter / cleaner versions of long form content and ideas I ultimately house here, on my own instance and / or on my blog. If I get shut down on those platforms, I still have my main hub that I own and control.

Even though this is my hub, its not the only place I publish & share ideas exclusively, and certainly not where all of my audience and followers are.
Inherently not possible to bridge centralized to decentralized because, if they even allow it in ...
@Alex Gleason I totally agree with that goal in the long term, but using those other platforms as a growth lever to raise awareness and drive traffic back to your social hub (and the Fedi in general) also makes a lot of sense in the short term.

The reality is… that’s still where the eyeballs are. 🤷

Normies are more easily sold on content syndication as well, so something you might reconsider at some point.
Maybe there is a solution I haven’t seen yet, but is there currently a way to cross post your updates on your #Pleroma (or Rebased) instance to other social networks (like X, Minds, etc…)?

Would be cool to be able to use your Fedi instance as a hub for all your social media updates.

@e31ef863 Isn’t it always though when you really think about it?

@c2f39e66 I am but a vessel of the meme, don’t shoot the messenger.
@realcaseyrollins ✝️ Speaking of which, Unity really shit the bed with their subscription model eh? I expect other FOSS projects and commercial alternatives to rise in prominence over the coming years (in response to their greed).
I might move off this instance at some point, mainly because of the number of "windmills of peace...
@misterjesus @Dave55811 @Alex Gleason Pretty sure anyone really invested in promoting hate these days are usually glowies or just young misguided autistic edgelords with no life, (trying to troll and get a reaction from people). I know some of that still exists, but a good cross section of what you see in the wild is one of those two.
At least the joinfediverse.wiki has exhibited a glimmer of decency on the topic of #fediblock. Props. This is the spirit of the open web. 🫡

@Dave55811 @Alex Gleason Case in point:

Activist tankie editors on Wikipedia have tried to delete this page for years because it doesn’t go along with their preferred narrative…

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mass_killings_under_communist_regimes

The edit history and arguments presented are par for the coarse and should serve as an example to how far they will go to lie and obfuscate the truth as long as it serves their interests.

The question people should be asking is: If they would lie about well established, documented history - what else are they lying about? 🤔
@Dave55811 @Alex Gleason This is a recent edit proposal to that page (Communist Mass Killings) by a high ranking editor on Wikipedia… 🤦‍♂️

I have friends on the left and the right ends of the political spectrum and can see value in both sides of the argument.

What I don’t have patience for is:

Lying / gaslighting around well documented facts

Attempting to censor others free speech just because you don’t agree with them

Labeling anything you don’t agree with as some imagined “ism” or “phobic” extension in an attempt to “other” said individual (Alinsky 101)

Being a hateful / scared little bitch who would happily use institutional power and weaponize it against political enemies

If you fall into any of these categories - we will never see eye to eye. You are the enemy of liberal democracy and more specifically - the constitutional republic that has facilitated the greatest improvement in quality of life in 10,000+ years of human history.
 #Shitposter rights are human rights.
just consider fediblock as a Stalin like thing run by an obsessive group of cultish elitists who ...
@atyh @Alex Gleason Ah, so like the dweebs no one liked in Highschool who’ve discovered a way to extract power through accusing everyone they don’t agree with as [insert ad hominem].

Projection from all the rejection they’ve experienced in life.

They want you to hurt and feel alienated like they did. That makes them feel good about themselves, like they are finally winning by getting a shred of social influence / relevance.

Most of these people probably need some therapy, regular exercise and a lot less SSRIs.
@atyh @Alex Gleason You get a good chuckle when the shitlib Maoists on Mastodon try to report you on your own branded instance. You can feel them seething. Fucking losers.

How is @Alex Gleason on the #Fediblock list? Promoting blind censorship through universal block lists is more hateful and fascist than any of the people they are speaking out against.

Shitposters are among the most marginalized and disenfranchised group on the internet. Their rights have to be protected.
