Give them a place to be able to express their weirdness without interjection. Groups will all hate each other, but I think the instance model has legs. It allows communities to make their own echo chambers free from corporate ads which is valuable..
@Alex Gleason I totally agree with that goal in the long term, but using those other platforms as a growth lever to raise awareness and drive traffic back to your social hub (and the Fedi in general) also makes a lot of sense in the short term. The reality is… that’s still where the eyeballs are. 🤷 Normies are more easily sold on content syndication as well, so something you might reconsider at some point.
