@2365cd39 @Alex Gleason I believe you can still pay for API on X. Minds is moving towards deeper Fediverse interoperability and Meta recently announced plans to do the same.
I guess I’m not as much of a purist as some. I see those other legacy platforms as a place to tease shorter / cleaner versions of long form content and ideas I ultimately house here, on my own instance and / or on my blog. If I get shut down on those platforms, I still have my main hub that I own and control.
Even though this is my hub, its not the only place I publish & share ideas exclusively, and certainly not where all of my audience and followers are.
@Steve Floyd @Alex Gleason I see, but due to these API prices, no one has an incentive to make a bridge. I am looking forward to see meta defederate a bunch of instances because of their naughty opinions or even defederating with the rest of the fediverse, like Gab did
@2365cd39 @Alex Gleason I was thinking more along the lines of connecting your own developer account to your instance (either personal or community).
Simply add your API credentials in the admin area and a share checkbox option shows up in the WYSIWYG editor with an option to cross-post to various profiles on platforms you have connected to.
