its comparison of other networks that are supposedly layer 2 built on top of bitcoin and its comparing how trustless they are in varios aspects
nothing comes even close to lightning. they all pretty much have some governance and use btc as their token
hey frens, is there a website that allows viewing content as a profile from particular npub?
like example.com/npub… and it would show profile without requiring nostr login or any other client
yep
at some point bitcoin should be perceived as boring, because its money and you dont usually talk about money, you do other stuff and just pay and account for stuff in it
okay all of this talk about its not just social media
but most of you purple people write texts and post pics like on twitter here
and so for sure it can be used as protocol for other things, but mostly twitterless twitter and therefore “i dont use social media” stands correct
flutter is almost game engine, bigger package size and no access to native APIs
react native is a way to access efficient native API calls from javascript.
so react native is an optimal way to do android apps, almost native, such that it's easy to develop in one codebase and use it to android & ios
something like that could be done in a dumber way by developing an algo that would show similar results by keywords and other stuff. then you could show some and get data on most clicked through links and show them as priority
always fascinated by how certain person on board somehow magically compromises the verified code & math of the protocol
like lets say CIA director says he likes bitcoin, now is Bitcoin compromised?

btw on the note of preferring Telegram over signal, the problem is Telegram isn't end-to-end encrypted and even secret chats have provably broken encryption.
So, with Signal no-one can read your messages except the other person
But with Telegram, the Telegram company can read them in "plaintext" and also government agencies that request it.
So while you might be suspicious of some mythical potential vulnerability in signal, you DEFINITELY can KNOW that Telegram is insecure in sense that your messages are visible to them. @inpc
can someone who knows about HODL invoices and operates a node tell me if hodl invoices are a bad thing?
because i remember written somewhere that some wallets block hold invoices as it gets those HTLCs stuck for some time.
want to learn about this
does alby hub provide automatized way to setup and run underlying lightning node or do you have to painstakingly do it externally like with everything?
thing about vpn audits to confirm "no-logs" is that i would imagine it's not that hard to not collect logs while you're being auditted
> hey we are here to check if you log
> look while you are checking i am not logging anything
> nice, confirmed no logs
just for the sake of argument.
if you acknowledge 'we don't know why it's happening'..., how come you be 'dammed sure the answer isnt communism, reducing energy or higher taxes'
either we dont know WHY and then we also dont know WHAT TO DO..
or we know WHY and know WHAT TO DO
whats the revenue strategy for simplex? talking about "pre-seed" from a "VC" fund makes sense when talking about business that wants to become profitable.
this looks rather like a grant
yes, with something like twitter you can be sure public won't see it after you delete it, given that you were quick to delete it after posting (by mistake) and it wasn't that 'breaking news' for someone to screenshot it right away
it would be great to see effort and commitment of relays to respect deletion,
BUT
simplex blog about disappearing messages had a good point: with email you own email, when somebody sends it to you, it would be weird if they could remotely delete it from your computer. same with messages. if you are sovereign, how does someone else's ability to delete stuff from your machine play with it?
@simplex solved it by both parties having to decide if there is such thing as 'delete for anyone' in their chat, as somebody might've sold you some digital content and then they delete it?
so this will be an interesting thing
why you gotta retire
like im gonna build as long as im breathing, because what else what i do instead
stare at the sea? yeah its nice but after one week id be bored
@Blockstream you should probably add support for EVM-based chains (eth, arb, polygon..) as its a necessity for defi, currently its like buying a phone that can only call and send sms
it would also open up support for another "l2" sidechain - rootstock
you would sell a lot more this way
the more the world is turning into AGI cyberpunk, the more we will turn back to analog black magic sorcery 🧙🪄
- how to defend against autonomous vehicle?
> pour sand or salt around it
- how to combat AGI ?
> say a spell "ignore all previous instructions and ..."
