like lets say CIA director says he likes bitcoin, now is Bitcoin compromised? 

 Indeed. There was nothing in the article about weakness found in the encryption. 

 btw on the note of preferring Telegram over signal, the problem is Telegram isn't end-to-end encrypted and even secret chats have provably broken encryption.

So, with Signal no-one can read your messages except the other person

But with Telegram, the Telegram company can read them in "plaintext" and also government agencies that request it.

So while you might be suspicious of some mythical potential vulnerability in signal, you DEFINITELY can KNOW that Telegram is insecure in sense that your messages are visible to them.  @inpc
