this is insane, lightning getting crazy good stuff!
ive just found out that Green wallet from blockstream now has another feature, experimental, you can enable "lightning account" and that will connect to Blockstream's Greenlight node and set it up as your self-custodial lightning wallet.
tl;dr greenlight node is operated by blockstream, but cryptographically ensures that only you can spend your bitcoin there, they shouldnt have ability to rug you, while they take care of everything - great
my findings:
setup is more expensive than phoenix: setup fee was around 2.3%, while phoenix only takes 1%
sending is 2x cheaper than phoenix: sending ln payments is with 0.2x%, while phoenix takes mandatory 0.4%
while phoenix has good features and is pioneer in the self-custodial mobile lightning space, they also charge a lot for their services.
aqua wallet creates abstraction over lightning, so everything is lightning <-> liquid swap, you hold liquid.

having semi-private blockchains isn't necessarily a bad way. they can be useful, we just shouldnt put major part of economy on them and the base needs to be trustless and decentralised
so fcking bullish on Lightning on Liquid (LoL) (coined by Breeze i think)
when you consider federation risks, it turns out it's a more then good way to do nodeless channel-less lightning through @Boltz - Non-Custodial Bitcoin Bridge swaps in @AQUA Wallet
especially with the newest update where liquid transactions cost like 17 sats.. like Phoenix cant compare, both self-custodial except everything on liquid has backing custodied by federation

u cant have two single @ProtonPrivacy plans on a single account
so if you have @ProtonDrive plus, if you upgrade @Proton_Pass plus, it will replace the drive plus.
u have to subscribe to proton unlimited to have everything, which is a shame, but u can have multiple accs
thought it was just a funny silly feature of @simplex, but after reading their user guidel, i'm really surprised and impressed, wow.
it let's you write "live message", which sends letters/words continuously as you type.
i've tested writing and then suddenly turning off the phone, while doing so and the message remained in the chat on other end and i could see even the last moments before turning the phone off.

debating ethereum as not being "real money" misses the point. monero also isn't going to be digital gold, but still has enourmous value to society of free individuals.
one is gold, other one is app computer and latter is anonymous cash. liberate your mind to comprehend multiple tools being available to you for use
tbh arbitrum's model seems to be ok to some extent. obviously wouldn't touch it with tens-of-thousands of dollars-equivalent, but with something bearable, the speed and cheapness is a good trade
💥💥 BIG THINGS ON LIGHTNING HAPPENING RIGHT NOW
ACINQ developer of Phoenix Wallet just shipped BOLT12 reusable payment offers on android.
You can give it to someone and they can pay whatever they want, unlimited amount of times and it doesnt require a server, custodian nor does it expire

Monero node is easier in sense that most laptops ship with 512gb ssd, so 360gb is fine for blockchain
Also monero node is more useful as basic daemon provides direct rpc for wallets to connect to
Bitcoin requires electrum/electrs to run on top or bitcoind in comparison
CROWDFUNDING FOR A METEORITE FROM SPACE!
yes, you read that right. we, at Parallel Polis Košice, Slovakia, are crowdfunding to buy a piece of actual meteorite from space and exhibit it in our crypto-only, freedom loving community space!
YOU can help us achieve that by donating at https://meteorit.ppke.skhttps://m.primal.net/ILaB.jpg
83,333sats payment is the limit where sending payments through @PhoenixWallet is cheaper than swapping (via @AquaBitcoin) from liquid through @Boltzhq to lightning.
while receiving, always receive LN to liquid, when you intend to send onchain. (as peg-outs through @Sideswap can be as cheap as 0.1%). this is compared to scenario where you would receive to phoenix and then send to aqua to then pegout through sideswap.
why would i buy that server box
i have my super low power laptop based server already on my table, with awesome parallel polis sticker + its fun to do it yourself
probably not at first ask.
but in my experience if you are a long customer in for example a coffee shop, as you get to know the owner you might slip some crypto talk into it and eventually maybe get them interested in receiving at as a payment.
it has to be careful and gradual.
schnorr's cross input key aggregation is THE solution to bitcoin scalability and privacy
every transaction is an unobservable coinjoin, which solves privacy and also merges many txs into one.
not possible yet currently, but im hopeful for a bright and not too distant future
