We’ve reviewed the traditional platforms and they’ve all got different was of doing it.
Currently on Damus you can search via the home tab by keywords and on the universe feed by hashtags.

Damus does not have a build-in wallet, we rely on third party wallets that you can connect to. This gives users the flexibility to use a preferred wallet or even their own that they run at home.
Alby is the most common wallet to connect to!
If you are outside the US, you can even use Wallet of Satoshi by putting your wallet of satoshi lightning address in your profile without even attaching a wallet.
This will allow you to receive bitcoin directly into wallet of satoshi. Any lightning wallet that supports lightning addresses are compatible with Damus.
If this is too complicated, there are some nostr clients that have a built-in wallet if this feature is important to you and you don't want the hassle.
damus still struggles tagging people with spaces in the name, since we use space to get out of tagging. Profile search is a workaround until we have a fix, but you have to copy and paste the npub from there which is annoying.
Today we’re trying something new to make threads suck less. We’ve just released a new experiment on the Damus Purple Testflight, here’s a quick video on the new chat threads feature and how it works!
