Crazy  

 I've been following this story. It's messed up and sad. The fact that this is acceptable by those running it is crazy to me.

When you participate in a system the you participate in legitimizing said system.

 I would agree. 

 That's a personal decision. It's easy to not participate in a jury. 

 I never said anything about whether someone should or should not participate in a system of any kind. I'm not stating whether something is good or bad. 

If someone participates in a system they participate in legitimizing said system.

Duty is also subjective. 

 A lot of great points made here. I'd agree with most of them, but doesn't participation of energy and time give it power even at a minimum? 

 I think I see what you're saying, but couldn't you make the same case you made for the jury (technically a part of politics) for a political process (I'm assuming you mean an election)? 

 So, the closer you are to collection the more the collection affects you?

As someone who has seizures I know how it can affect one's self as well as the people who care about you.

I know how my situation with seizures has affected my mother and brother. I wish the missus luck moving forward and pray for her daughter's health.

 It is often referred to be those of us who have suffered from it severely as an "Invisible" disability.  

 What kind of seizure was it? I'm assuming Grand Mal, but there are different types to be aware of. Was she awake or sleeping at the time?

My advice is to not rush into a diagnosis. Also, with how young she is be weary of prescription drugs. Side effects are often overlooked by doctors in this area. I've had 5 or so neurologists and more drugs prescribed to me than I can count on two hands. Often the tests such as EEGs and MRIs may not catch any type of helpful brain activity. I've heard this from other folks as well. 

 Length of a seizure may be useful. Often people are told to try and time it if assisting someone who is having a seizure. 

 I honestly wouldn't know the answer to that. 

I had my first one when I was 16. Thought it was a one time thing. Didn't have another until over a year later. 

 I believe mine are connected to stress levels.
