Active day at fiat mines and then a weights session in the afternoon. I was feeling tired after the drive home, but pushed through, glad I did it. Feeling strong lately.

You can get some decent food at Aussie pubs, I've had some great stuff in the UK too.
Our local recently was voted 'Best Chicken Schintty' in South Australia, so we're getting somne good grub.
Yes! My daughter, in particular, loves Top Gear and The Grand Tour. When they aired the last episode and said goodbye she cried, I got a little emotional too. They did some fantastic shows over the years.
James May's travel show is good, we enjoyed that.
I know a few people who lived in, and escaped from, communist countries. They hated it, but a lot of people they knew liked being given free shit, not working and snitching on people. Hard working, honest people seem to dislike living under communism.

Wet and cold day. Made some sauerkraut in preparation for Oktoberfest and a 5km bushwalk in the afternoon.
After a meal at the local pub with the kids, we watched Alpha. It's a great film, suitable for kids, about a neolithic boy befriending a wolf, becoming a man, surviving. And they use a reconstructed proto-indoeuropean language, which is fascinating.

I've gone full Kevin McCallister, home alone tonight as the kids are having sleepovers and the wife is at work. This is the first time in, possibly, ten years I've been without any of my family at home and it feels weird.
Did an 18 hour fast today and walked across town to drop off my son's things to his friends house, adding to my walk at the fiat mines. Tired and alone 😂, time for bed. GN

40 minute weights workout, first one in a while due to some back issues, then work in the garden for the afternoon. Had the day off, allowed me to gsd for myself and the homestead.
The flower is one of my wifes favourites, it's a succulent called Pigface. This particular one I liberated from the Flinders Ranges last time we were up there. It produces these large and very bright flowers.

At a site yesterday I found a bee swarm under a roof overhang. After reporting it to the office, thinking they would call a beekeeper, I returned to find a Groundskeeper just casually blasting the area and bees with a big tub of poison.
I don't get people who deal with problems like that, just poison everything, kill everything, destroy a swallow nest because it's in the rafters and made of mud. This is the problem, because most people think exactly like that.

The photos don't really do this blossom justice, it's magnificent. I'm not saying I'm going to look at it, say "perfect!", and then commit seppuku, like at the end of The Last Samurai, but it's enjoyable to look at.

Lots of cleaning around the house, my wife has night shifts all weekend, so it's dad in charge.
Spent the afternoon prepping outside, more clearing and levelling of soil, ready for mulch laying tomorrow. If all goes well it should be looking good by the afternoon.

A woman I work with apologetically asked me the other day, if it had any particular dietary requirements.
Her query was due to me eating the same thing at work every day, an egg and a sandwich made with local mustard pickle, cheese and low carb, high protein bread.
I wanted to tell her it was because I'm an autistic retard, but I went with the other reason, that I'm keto. 😂 She had noticed my bizarre eating habits and had never heard of keto.

I've been working on that here in Aus for years, trying to get my brother and friends involved. Finally one of my friends is now looking real hard and making offers on land. I'm now not in the best position to jump in, but the idea is going. Hopefully it'll be a little freedom reserve.
There is certainly a lot to deal with and agree on. I'm lucky that most of what my friend and I want are the same. Pity I'm not in a position to join him if he buys right now.
