@efa2e20e The computer had to do something revolutionary before people responded. VisiCalc, the Web, etc. If it stayed a big iron machine crunching numbers for a bank, nothing happens. Likewise, creating neat photos, songs, or text cannot possibly be the killer application for this stuff or it is indeed a nothingburger. There needs to be breakout creation. It can have all the potential, but until then it's like using a time machine to catch yesterdays weather report
@669563d8 That's not clever or helpful. If you are going to just pay your fine in an annoying way, you aren't "fighting back". And what happens if they just had a big change counting machine to account for assholes? Are you going to bring bars of gold as your way to "stick it to the man"?
@d0e09e5d I don't see this getting much farther than the point where they sit there confused and don't see the point of the farm and stuff...because socialism to them means they just get everything free (by magic, apparently) and get to be bums.
Been watching the presentation, and so far you'd have to convince me otherwise that they don't really have something here. Just because it's not what you might expect at a glance doesn't mean anything. I think if anything, movies like E.T. were predictive programming (which succeeded, since none of us are particularly shocked here), and letting disclosure leak/begin from wherever-Mexico where it can easily be discredited or walked back is a pretty smart move.

@899d9141 After looking up and seeing why it's impossible, I took the reasoning to calculate what the you get going at the intuitive answer of 45mph in the last mile. Got 22.5mph for whole trip. So going 15mph for a mile and then 45mph for a mile gives you "average" speed of 22.5mph. I feel like there are some high school math text books out there that are proper fucked on this one...
