Thank God for Goodwill.
Otherwise my house would be buried in junk my wife “is planning to give away on Facebook” because “it’s too nice to just throw out.”
I just rode every single subway train in NYC in a single afternoon with my 7yo, including the rare and elusive Z train.
Massive achievement. Core memory.
Some of these disorders are likely caused or enhanced by modern diet, exercise, and environment.
It’s never a single cause, but these conditions are a big departure from the historical norm.
God only knows. It’s hard for me to stay plugged into more than one social app. Just time and attention and logistics.
And the news of the world is on X so there’s such a strong pull (and real alpha to be gained) there.
But nothing beats nostr for Bitcoin and freedom.
I just explained nostr to a bitcoiner as "a bit like wallet software and the blockchain"
Your profile and posts are like data on the blockchain.
Nostr apps like @primal or @damus are akin to wallet software like Sparrow that serve up publicly accessible data.
Unlike Twitter or Facebook or IG, they don't own your account or data. They just create an interface that serves as lens through which to view YOUR data which YOU own (and the data of others, which THEY own).
They also package up data (i.e. new posts) into the nostr protocol and then "publish it to the blockchain" if you will.
Of course this data isn't hashed or linked the way blockchain data is.
What's the best way to stream on nostr?
Want to do something for the halving. Stream originating from OBS --> into restream.io --> how to get that into nostr?
Appreciate the feedback.
Anytime I see "solutions" in a title I'm skeptical. It's a long-time strategy for covering up the negative connotation of sales, when signaling to clients or buyers.
Seeing it creep into the IT world is disappointing.
Not sure how you feel, but I think the Level 4 aspect of your previous role is pretty important and useful as well. It's crystal clear that you have a higher skillset than a Level 3, 2, etc. and that does affect the way people engage (if they don't know you already).
Reducing the numbers to vague "senior, junior, executive" etc just makes everything more vague and everyone else unsure of whom they're really dealing with.
Blech! 🤢
Curious what specifically you find frustrating about this title?
I only ask because I work in the talent development sphere and titles are always a tricky tangle of specificity, hierarchy, compensation, and signaling.
I have some assumptions of my own as to why this is a fiat BS title, but I don't want to taint the waters before hearing your thoughts.
100%
Wish more bitcoiners would dig deeper into the concept of Use Cases and Job-To-Be-Done.
It's a big world out there and many people are in many different situations with different constraints that need different approaches.
I think the underlying fear many are reacting to is that the ETF will subvert the use case for holding your own keys and put the fundamental decentralization and censorship-resistance of bitcoin at risk.
This is a good thing to always be concerned about, and we should remain vigilant. But the ETF will grow an entirely new crop of BTC maximalists, who will help maintain that vigilance.
And exposure to BTC, while surely getting some rekt, will save many many more from financial destitution with money that cannot otherwise be used to hold their own keys.
I'm going to be at Pacific Bitcoin and want to meet moar bitcoiners. Hit me up if you'll be there too. Perhaps there are shanties in our shared future.
My notifications are other people liking and commenting on this post, which means I now have to scroll through it MULTIPLE times.
Congratulations, Minstrel: you played yourself.
Is there something going on with the dust limit right now???
Just tried to make an on-chain transaction to a segwit address. ~$350 USD
Sparrow wallet telling me "too low, below the dust threshold for this type of address"
A $350 dust limit???
I know fees are high rn, but... DAYUM.
I've had my bitcoin shanties on Apple Music, Spotify, etc for probably a year now.
Been on Wavlake for maybe 4 months?
Have made 400% more on Wavlake in lightning tips in that time.
And I have to pay for distribution on major platforms, so technically I've lost money.
#bitcoin + #lightning are the future of value exchange in a digital world.

It’s definitely not controlling my life. But I don’t want to be dragged into pointless debates because of a connotation I’m not aware of.
It’s interesting how consistently cultures rise to empire and then attribute success to genetics. When what it really is, more than anything, is an alignment of cultural practices and values with a technological environment at a particular moment in history.
The quest of historians and philosophers is to find that set of values and practices that are immune to the changes in technology and environment over time.
The design and UX of vida.live is fantastic. But for some reason it's just never worked for me.
I somehow downloaded some bad code when using it once and now there's a client-side error whenever I visit the page. Can't even log in. Can't seem to fix it. Vida team has tried to help but no solutions. I can access the page on other browsers.
But now when I try to stream (using another browser) just spins "connecting..." and never starts. Does this on multiple different browsers. Have restarted my own computer and everything. Wondering if it's a server-side error.
Anyway, at my wit's end with it for now. Might try again tomorrow.
