Apparently next month I'll no longer have the job title of Systems Administrator Level 4. I will be known as a Vendor IT Solutions Specialist. What in the fiat bullshit made up titles is this?
 Someone on a power trip
LOL Want me to make a nostr badge for Vendor IT Solutions Specialist so its super official 😂
 You bastard.
Bro you need to let middle management feel productive. Stop being selfish
Accurate. They've been working on job title consolation and compensation updates for a year now.
 🤮
Sir, do you have a vendor product you need me to provide solutions for?
Sure, put me in contact with your Sysadmin
We don't have those anymore 😭
Wouldn’t want level 3 admins to feel bad would you?
I used to walk around all smug in front of the level 1-3 people, but now what am I going to do? 😂

The big picture better be a big raise.
reminds me of when the 'chip shops' here started hiring 'Potato Technicians' ....
 Interesting. Tell me more 😂
Sounds like my job slapping "senior" on the front of a title in lieu of a raise.
Hopefully this comes with one or I'm going to be extremely unimpressed. I worked hard for that level 4 bragging right 😂
Everybody gets a participation ribbon it sounds like. Yay!
😂😂😂Vendor Solution Specialist sounds a bit like shitcoin scammer.. 😅🤣🫂💜
 Oof. https://c.tenor.com/qXUIVGzj8PQAAAAC/tenor.gif

 Blech! 🤢

Curious what specifically you find frustrating about this title?
I only ask because I work in the talent development sphere and titles are always a tricky tangle of specificity, hierarchy, compensation, and signaling.

I have some assumptions of my own as to why this is a fiat BS title, but I don't want to taint the waters before hearing your thoughts.
It sounds made up and fake. It sounds like bullshit. It sounds less prestigious or less professional than a systems administrator. It sounds like some amateur job. I've been at this job for 14 years. This sounds specifically like a downgrade. I'm not impressed at all.
Ask them to make you a badge with 'Vendor IT Solutions Specialist.' 😂
I think @NEW1 is already on the case 😂
I was just talking about this the other day. Titles used to mean something but now they are all made up bs. The only thing that matters is if your raise can keep up with inflation and most can’t :/.
I'll find out in about a week and a half what that will be. It should be around 3% unless my new sexy title comes with a sexy raise. Doubtful.
Couldvbe worse, could be a sandwich artist like me
 I am hungry...
 Cheaper than an appropriate raise
I don't even know what my title these day is.
