 When nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll modem/router?
😅
The project is already underway. More info coming soon
send me some negative feedback on Alby Hub. What do we need to fix asap for you?
Definitely best to wit for official releases. Alby Hub is currently in Alpha testing and is expected to have bugs.

That said, you may have discovered a bug. Any info you can share will be helpful. Why did you have to restart it 3 times?

 Aegis is great
Jellyfin is already available and better IMO
Jellyfin has apps for just about every platform, including smart TVs. It's also very easy to create guest accounts to share media, etc. I've never used Plex personally, so I can't compare, but I'm pretty sure Jellyfin does all the things and easily.

It's in alpha testing, beta in September. It's a massive release, so lots of testing needed.
 Hey nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll 👋🏻. Wen router?
 2025.

But router demo vid coming next week.
I am trying nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll and looks like ...
What do you mean by local emails? You mean running your own SMTP server? That is very difficult to do in a way that will actually result in emails being received to inboxes. Email is largely a captured protocol, and it is no longer feasible to run your own SMTP server and expect clients to permit emails from that server. We plan to offer Mail In a Box at some point, but it will probably only work for certain use cases. Meaning, many people will not receive the emails you send them.

The newer 7B models like Llama3 or Mistrel work great on well-resourced devices like the ones we sell.

No real harm in running it alongside Bitcoin and Lightning, but you also don't have to. It's your server, only install what you want.
Yeah that model runs just fine. Nothing compared to ChatGPT speeds but it's affordable consumer hardware. No, nobody has packaged OpenUI for StartOS yet, looks cool though.
Does anyone else have issues with StartOS HDMI? It'll work right after a boot, but it seems like ...
Most likely this is an issue with the graphics driver. Which ISO did you flash? Many screens will need the "nonfree" ISO to work properly.

May I ask why do you have screen connected? Except for flashing firmware and extremely rare debugging purposes, there is absolutely no reason to connect a monitor. servers are meant to run headless (mno screen/monitor).
nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll Any estimate for Server one...
Defintely on the roadmap, but not in the next 12 months
Hardware raid setups work fine, because StartOS still sees it as a single drive.
How great would it be to have a self hosted Nostr caching service that regularly pulls the latest...
Would love to see Primal caching on StartOS. In the meantime, noStrudel is quite amazing and already available. It runs a caching service and works well, even over Tor.
What would it mean to have StartOS on the Alby marketplace? You mean like an affiliate marketing thing? Alby team is well aware of StartOS. If they choose not to support/recommend StartOS, not much we can do 🤷‍♂️
This definitely works, I'm personally doing it with GOS. Are you followour guide for this?

#asknostr is there a Nostr private relay on start9 that automatically listens to the network for ...
A relay only knows what it learns from clients. Relays do not talk to eachother like they do it Bitcoin.

You can't just spin up a relay and expect it to know anything.
What do you mean "broadcast everything manually"? When you create a note, it automatically gets broadcast to all your connected relays, at least the ones that permit writing.

What exactly are you trying to do. I think there might be some confusion about how Nostr works.
I like this idea, will look into it.

Phone is a few devices down the list haha. But we have a new device coming later this year ;)
Don't use a monitor? Servers usually run headless.
nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll can we get native i2p support?
Can you be more specific. What use case do you have in mind?
I see. Yeah, the difference is that Tor has decent support from client browsers/applications, where as i2p does not. For example, it won't matter if your LND grpc interface is available over i2p because no wallets would support connecting to it.

This doesn't mean we won't support i2p network connection, it just means it's not a top priority.

We are focusing our immediate networking efforts around VPN and clearnet usage. Combined with Tor and local connectivity, this will make StartOS servers very accessible.
 Tor sucks
Have you tried putting back in your pants then tacking it out again?
 nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll

How do I get the xpub from...
You are the first to ever ask for this, curious what your use case is.

I believe this can be done from the CLI using dumponchaindescriptors command.

You'll need to SSH into the server and access the CLN container.

https://docs.start9.com/0.3.5.x/user-manual/container-access
That would be for the xpriv, no? You said you want the xpub
Do we? Defintiely not something we were aware of. We use Shopify for our fiat e-commerce store. Maybe this is some default or Shopify itself doing the tracking. I'll look into it.
Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention. We use Shopify for this store, and they do this by default. I have enabled the feature that allows visitors to opt out.

We didn't know Shopify did this. Fixed.

This post is wildly incorrect. Have you ever used StartOS?
Yes, LND is something you can install on StartOS. But the whole point of StartOS is to automate the syadmin skills that prevent people from running servers and nodes. Everything you just described to him is just a button when you run LND on StartOS.

You can not. VPN functionality will be possible in 03.6 but not before.
This is not possible until 0.3.6, because CLN on StartOS does not have a port on the LAN. All hostname resultion is done using HTTPS and SNI. 0.3.6 gives services a unique port, so you will be able to use a VPN or even set up a clearnet domain. So only Tor for now.

Hang in there, everything you want is coming. We're doing it right while still moving as fast as we can. We shoud be out of beta in a year or so
Yes, email is also particularly captured and generally required using one of the big SMTP servers if you want any hope of your emails reaching inboxes.

Here's a good article on it: https://blog.lopp.net/death-of-decentralized-email/
You gotta be insane using telegram
We will be moving to SimpleX once multi-room communities are supported. Coming this year.
