@970ab77f astral projection, lucid dreaming, hypnosis, meditation are all birds of the same feather i think.

DXM/ketamine hit the same place

A common technique used in hypnosis is to imagine yourself dropping down out of your body while you lay prone

Do you meditate at all / have you tried hypnosis?
@616e9d93 Yeah thats what this guy in the video says. He just calls it "the phase" to cover everything.
I have done a little meditating but not much.
@970ab77f that point about sleep paralysis is interesting -- hypnosis deliberately focuses on that

With Indic techniques (samadhi/jhana), they instead describe the feeling of your body slowing down and stilling, to the point where you may only breathe once a minute!

If you can play with fasting and sleep deprivation, those can help trigger OoBE -- listening to white noise, metronomes ticking, or certain kinds of music can really help too
@970ab77f best thing about cultivating mindfulness is it can be done any time, any place and also supports what he calls "the phase", practicing anything that demands a lot of focus (reading, writing, coding, working out) can help too
@970ab77f I personally experience REM in hypnosis and meditation

I recommend the book, "the mind illuminated" as a decent way to get into meditation. lucid dreaming is a bit easier -- kind of like training wheels -- btw, ever tried DXM or ketamine?
