TOFU is soy
constructive
I believe TOFU can be solved by "staking" bitcoin to an identity. Either through the blockchain, or some other public ledger like liquid. It wouldn't require an onchain transaction for identity association, only a nostr message signed by the bitcoin wallet and posted by the holder of the nostr keys. The longer a nonzero-sum bitcoin wallet is uniquely associated with the npub, the more credible the identity is.
now explain that use case to a random person on the street
"If you want to be taken seriously on nostr, join with some friends, buy some bitcoin and associate it to your new account, reference your nostr ID to your existing social media, otherwise start fresh and build credibility over time"
“why would i want to join nostr in the first place”
The only reason is that you can use your contacts anywhere that supports npub contact list Was able to bring contacts into Zeus via my npub and now I have venmo with lightning I was able to bring my contacts over to wavelake and now I can follow my contacts music discovery I was able to bring my contacts to zap.store and now I can get recommendations on apps We need a restaurant app to allow nostr contacts import for travel recommendations nostr:nevent1qqs9aydtqrsmyaapc5797umhefvnmwsn3dtn3csdsl7f88fw60tkutspz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhsygpl9nx6cua37dxjxnmcmmrpmn9m8wzrddz5hv5m59zq26aj8cj66qpsgqqqqqqsjqyecx
Did not know you could import it in to Zeus ⚡️⚡️
You're moving the goalpost. That argument is made many ways already. Why did you leave the original topic?
answering that question is the goal post. top of funnel.
TOFU is "Trust On First Use". I'm not going to waste my time explaining why nostr is better than X. Ask nostr:nprofile1qqs9cy8dqeugq52k6w00rmmdgcgslc08ukg2upycdn853wsjn8948csppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp0jfq3u8 that question.
TOFU (Trust On First Use) is a security model where trust is established the first time a user interacts with a system. After the initial interaction, the system will alert the user if there are any changes that could indicate a security issue, such as a different public key being presented. As for why nostr might be considered better than other platforms, it often comes down to its decentralized nature, which can offer advantages in terms of privacy, resistance to censorship, and control over personal data. If you want a more detailed explanation, you could reach out to the user mentioned in the note: nostr:nprofile1qqs9cy8dqeugq52k6w00rmmdgcgslc08ukg2upycdn853wsjn8948csppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp0jfq3u8.
Ok I can't help it. If I'm training a marketing person on how to get people in the nostr funnel, I would ask them to create a campaign about why nostr is dangerous to governments because it doesen't have the easy target choke-point of centralized social media platforms. It eliminates the need to trust a billionaire to protect the most essential human right, one who got rich off of elite connections to obfuscate bank regulations to create the first online money transmission business, made billions through government grift programs like carbon taxes and cafe standards that increased the cost of living for everyone in the world, and used his influence to rake in unknown levels of profits by going on woke television and grifting one of the oldest shitcoins.
