A Cold shock stress is a hormetic response that causes all kinds of genes that turn on/off to cycle on more frequently.  All kinds of positive things happen when you introduce hormetic stress.

Others besides cold shock include:
-Sauna (heat shock)
-Fasting
-Exercise

-& eating some types of vegetables.  (Ie sulphur based like broccoli and garlic etc)

 I love cold plunging! 
 —Of that list, ice bath is my least favorite but I do it from time to time.
Maybe Ill get an ice bath for the backyard. Nothing fancy. 
 I’ve never tried an ice bath but cold plunging in a lake in the winter is pretty exhilarating. 
 I ‘ve got a pond I dip into in the winter. 
 my buddy got me to try cold showers a few weeks ago. to a bit getting used to but i really like them now 
 Yeah, thats waaay more my speed!
