💯 Seems like the more sincere the post the more shitpost replies I get, and the more shitpost the post™, all of a sudden people get super serious or philosophical. So weird.
people like to beat the nice person but dont want to be the butt of the joke?
i feel like it varies based on the alignment of the moon and the stars 😂
for me it honestly varies to the mood that im in, the person that's posting it, or how much time i have. it's like a box of chocolates. for example, my man @utxo the webmaster 🧑💻, i love that guy, but i feel like i always have to give him a shitpost reply. it just fits our relationship. but sometimes, if the mood is right, ill give him an intellectual reply if time permits.
i'd reply to him more if he chilled on the transphobic "joke" posts. but yeah, it seems you get shitpost replies from me more often as well. it is interesting how people feed on each other's energy. you're definitely one of my fav plebs.
He's a good dude. I've met him IRL twice. We've drank beers together and he passes the Derek Beer Index scale with flying colors. I believe people joke about things they don't understand. It's a way to cope, I guess? Though, I don't think I could ever understand it unless I went through it, right? However, all I need to know is that a person felt something was wrong with their lives and they are trying to to fix it. Everyone deserves to feel happy and be able to be themselves. You do what makes you happy and I'll be happy for you 🤙🏻💜🫂
You can't tell me this isn't funny https://i.nostr.build/oMKGl.jpg
hmm actually think that's dumb :) you can do better imo. im all for picking on everyone and making jokes about everyone. we should all be able to laugh at ourselves no matter who we are. that said, if someone doesn't like it we should also be respectful and not pick on them any longer. some people are more sensitive then others and that's fine too.
Perhaps, but also perhaps we are so respectful and scared to make jokes that now many top women's athletes are men, and we hand out condoms in women's prisons. I'm not trying to be mean these are my opinions on the matter, I do think it is doing better to point out that we now accept men can go into women's change rooms and young women are losing athletic scholarships to men. I do not apologize for these views, I stand by them, even if many people think they are mean and they hurt many people's feelings 🫡 Love you tho always 🫂❤️
I agree with these opinions. It's happening in my kid's high school right now. There are girls that don't feel right going into the locker room to change. I don't really know what the correct answer is here or if we even have one. Making everyone feel safe is hard and probably something that can't be done. It's a hard conversation.
Agreed 🤝 I think Thailand does it best, they call themselves ladyboys, people can be respectful without actually trying to convince you they're not boys
This advertisement ran while I was watching YoutubeTV last week The whole situation is unfortunate because I believe that 90% of people just want to be left alone and feel free to live their lives as they choose - but clearly there is an agenda pushed to divide people around this issue and change the culture https://youtu.be/MpMjLFK_P6s?feature=shared
I think it's very telling when certain groups cannot be made fun of. It shows that we perceive them as different than the rest. We should 100% be able to ridicule the ridiculous. We should be able to differentiate between people who happen to be trans, and people who are completely unhinged. For example, a trans woman like Blair White compared to the GameStop "it's ma'am" dude. It's sad to see how many people will go against their intuitions, and walk on eggshells when approaching certain subjects.
we should embrace our differences, because if we were all the same that would be fucking boring. however, what each person needs to feel as like they belong is also different from the next.
@utxo the webmaster 🧑💻 Trans women are women. Trans men are men. Period. Same gender predators have always been in bathrooms and locker rooms. Being a predator has nothing to do with being trans. Trans people are literally just people trying to live their lives, like the civil rights movement, the women's movement, and the gay movement. People fear what they don't understand. Imagine how it feels to be a girl, forced into the boys locker room because that's the gender you were assigned at birth. Note: Intersex people are as common as red hair, and they have been traditionally operated on after birth and assigned a sex based on what they doctor decided. Gender is a social contruct. Sex is not black and white. There are some olympic cis-gender female athletes/strong women who put trans men and cis men to shame. Discrimination looks bad on you UTXO, it looks bad on everyone. I've heard you're a pretty cool guy otherwise. But just like racist or racist adjacent folks, being a "good person" in other areas, is no excuse. A joke is just another way of telling the truth. I hope you will meet someone trans one day and/or care enough find out the truth for yourself.
If gender is a social construct, what does it mean to you when someone says they are a man or a woman? Genuine question - I’m trying to understand that point of view.
Good question. gender is a social construct. so it means they identify as a man, or a woman in society. this is independent of body parts. tits don't make a woman (though i do have nice ones) any more than a dick makes a man. boys do this, girls do that etc. boys look like this, girls look like that. it has always been the case in english that people will gender someone...by guessing their pronouns based on appearance, thank you sir/maam etc. telling someone your pronouns or posting them in a bio is expressing a personal descriptor...similar to telling them your name. people wear nametags at work so people know how to address them. it is a descriptor of a person's identity. plain and simple. transgender, intersex, and gender non-conforming people have been here since the beginning of time. the separation of groups comes from ignorance, religion, or just old fashioned transphobia and homophobia. biology is far more expansive than black and white, this or that...the sex is a boy or girl. take intersex people (people born with ambiguous genetalia) for example. those on this spectrum are about as common as people with red hair. "Intersex is an umbrella term used to describe a wide range of natural variations that affect genitals, gonads, hormones, chromosomes or reproductive organs. Sometimes these characteristics are visible at birth, sometimes they appear at puberty, and sometimes they are not physically apparent at all." Historically, doctors have assigned intersex babies a gender at birth and performed mutilation surgeries based on appearance and size. "The Phall-O-Meter is a satirical representation of the way that clinicians have historically determined whether visibly intersex children should be assigned female (and subjected to feminising surgeries) or assigned male (and subjected to masculinising surgeries). It was created by the Intersex Society of North America, based on research by Susan Kessler (1998): In general, medical standards do not allow clitorises larger than .9 centimeters (about 3/8 of an inch). … [An image showing ranges of medically acceptable infant clitoral and penile lengths reveals] that intermediate area of phallic length than neither females nor males are permitted to have." https://image.nostr.build/ee0cb855f4b9915e5a4dfee3a211ef1a0f147f233366e640bbd3a33bf3cb8bab.jpg pronouns are not to make people do anything. it is a basic courtesy to avoid guessing, and embarrassment. there is no trans agenda. that's a psyop. i encourage you to not believe the "hype" and do your own research into biology, gender and social dynamics. and for bonus points, political persuasion and manipulation tactics along with social engineering. the idea is, there can be no 'us' to rally around unless there's a 'them' to demonize.
Correct me if I’m misinterpreting - but with this framework, gender is more of a descriptor for a set of behaviors than it is an indicator of a biological trait? I 100% agree that biology isn’t black and white - every individual is incredibly unique. However, in my day to day life, when I use gendered words it is because I’m treating someone differently based on their projected biology, not based on their behaviors. Aside from a few transgender coworkers who have asked for me to use their preferred pronouns, it makes much more sense for me to express gender under that framework than under a behavioral one. If I gendered based on behavior most people would get offended, and if gender was just 100% what someone else tells me it is then it doesn’t hold any real meaning anymore. I’m trying to approach a very touchy subject with an open mind and respect, but could you see why many people would be confused by that?
If you think this is a good look, I'm glad we don't see eye to eye on this issue. Call me discriminator or transphobic all you want. But I know men and women are different, and those differences don't just exist in the brain. I'm not at all interested in pleasing people so they think I'm a cool guy. I will never accept your premise that men and women can change genders. https://i.nostr.build/mlreq.jpg
I support people being trans, but I agree with you here. I believe it's unfair to have trans men compete in sports with biological women. It just doesn't seem fair. I get trying to be inclusive, but sometime we can be overly trying too hard to please people that we go overboard and hurt the masses to please the few. It would be similar if someone took drugs to have an advantage, right?
Do you k 9w how fucking retarded you sound right now?
As someone who works with athlete, from the amateur ranks to pro, the physical differences between males and females are incredibly massive. The Canadian women's Olympic hockey team, the best female team in the world, play against local U18 boys to prepare for tournaments, and lose the strong majority of the games.
I respect your right to your opinion and I fight daily for your right to say it. Whether what you say makes you look like a dick or not is up to you. I.E. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. But yeah, if the shoe fits. Some things people act their way into, so there's no talking their way out of it. Just admittance and the willinness to learn and grow, or hold to outdated beliefs not rooted in fact or science. Good luck also coming to terms with transhumanism, ai "sentience", cyborgs, and all the mindblowing evolution of humanity just around the corner. That's the stuff that's going to make the current state of transitioning and ideas of gender look like child's play.
Re: the photo These ladies would like a word https://image.nostr.build/4b722c92fc9344b2e8378f7b0ad35ef156a4975f443fc82676063785ddf0b68f.jpg https://image.nostr.build/0f7d5f01520243da7530c5cb868b0126516b66edc6cddca99d68ede98d1f4feb.jpg Okay. Have a good one.
They would all kick my ass.
None of these ladies are 6'2 220lbs lol Tell you what, as soon as a woman who transitions to male wins in men's swimming or MMA or boxing or power lifting, I'll shut the fuck up But until then I will continue to call your ideology femalephobic and discriminatory towards women And it's not a good look, it makes you look like a dick
So there are no women who are 6'2 220. You might want to check that statistc. Good luck with reality. This cisgender MMA dude (who thinks like you) is about to get his ass kicked by a trans man. https://www.outsports.com/2023/4/25/23696668/jake-shields-trans-men-fight-mma-mack-beggs-challenge-mclaughlin-owned/ I am a feminist through and through. The future is now. Here's maybe a better metric that sport, actual combat. Here's trans man Shane Ortega, Retired Army Staff Sergeant Ortega served three duty tours: two in Iraq with the USMC as a woman, and one in Afghanistan with the Army as a man. ...A "team and squad leader, a flight engineer, and a machine gunner." Ortega executed over 400 combat missions in Iraq and Afghanistan, "and fought side-by-side in foxholes and remote operating bases." Ortega noted that in a combat zone his gender identity made little difference, as he was expected to carry his own equipment and do his job—lives counted on it. https://image.nostr.build/2aa1bcde4c8ea1a4ace7d2c1c615cfc211e804523864d886f970ad26becf6c5c.jpg I'm not here to say what you should believe. It's not the job of the oppressed to educate their oppressors. That's what allies are for.
I respect Beggs for wanting to compete in the male division, instead of the female one. It's too bad the kid got caught up in a media shit storm, when he wasn't at fault for the wrestling division he was forced to compete in. However, Mack would get crushed in a fight against Jake Shields, it wouldn't be close. Even if Shields doesn't prepare for the fight, he'd need to get a stroke in the middle of the bout to lose.
Wow, imagine being so threatened by strong, powerful women that you have to resort to making jokes about their size. Maybe instead of mocking them, you should try celebrating their strength and athleticism. Just a thought. #WomenEmpowerment #SizeDoesntDefineAbility 🚺💪🏼
Thank you for taking a principled position publicly and not dodging a topic you know is going to attract haters. If everyone took your approach, the world would be a much better place today. The majority wouldn't be afraid to voice their beliefs due to being gaslit into thinking they're in the minority when they really aren't. I'll just leave this here... https://m.primal.net/HptC.png
I feel like coming out of the closet to say … actually that’s maybe funny? Clowns are funny. WTF clown gender? That’s silly. Why can’t this just be silly funny? Cause it IS. I don’t have to get all “trans suxx”, and in fact I don’t. Trans people are real people, and my friends too. But when I post this in public … well I just think note threads are just the WORST place to share nuance. But we must assume the worst… right?
