I agree in normal circumstances. But when your life is at risk, you’re not thinking about marketing or your image. That’s just hard for me to believe.
Ser, c’mon… Everyone has different crises responses. Fight, flight, freeze, fawn, or even indifferent. I guess I could agree that a big middle bell curve chunk goes into panic survival mode but there’s definitely people that exist who don’t need to. I’m pretty sure Trump’s dad abused him so that may loosely track with not needing to panic.
That’s true and I get what you’re saying but generally speaking it’s fight or flight. I could be wrong but it just seems too convenient. And as a psychologist I’d have to say that being abused doesn’t change your fear of death. If anything, it’s more likely to amplify it and keep you anxious and on edge. A lot of children that are abused grow up with some form of ptsd. Think of war veterans that have ptsd. They struggle to stay calm and immediately jump into fight or flight.
Fair psychological point. I was thinking narrow in the frame of he’s used to being immersed in violence or the threat of violence. But just speculation 🤷🏻

Fist pumping is fight or flight. It’s the expression of the “fight” reaction without the enemy directly present. I’ll also add that he seems to think he’s in the clear, which would probably be a crazy adrenaline high considering there was just an attempt made on his life. Just my interpretation.

I wouldn’t know what to do in a situation like that. It seems pretty stressful. I would hope that bodyguards would know to take cover in a high stress situation like this.
They were as professional as can be. I imagine that they can’t keep DJT from sticking his head up and fist-pumping if that’s what he was determined to do.
I had this thought in the back of my head just because I wanted to consider all possibilities. But he did get clipped. And the media has also been quite unfair with the way they've portrayed him, which could have cause a certain section of people to want to resort to bad decisions.
Who do you think did it if it’s actually true? And what were they trying to accomplish?
Possibly just a small group of radicalised, ordinary and unimportant people who told themselves they were doing it for some perceived greater good I have also been hearing that economic conditions are terrible in America. Times like these are when folks can be radicalised easily.

Bravery is a parsimonious explanation for everything that you say "doesn't make sense" about this. People often take risks in the face of their own fear response, especially when they think it's important and they feel like others are depending on them.
