I want to get to a point where I can fast for a day and genuinely not think about food. Making healthy food and intermittent fasting is my game plan. https://i.nostr.build/2R6L9.jpg
Every time I’ve tried to intermittent fast, I end up with a headache that lasts the rest of the day. I hate it.
Check out a book called The Fatburn Fix. That happens because your body is not in a state where it can burn its own body fat for fuel. You can adjust your diet slowly over time and get to a point where you can.
Does this require me to eliminate carbs from my diet?
No. It's focused on eliminating unhealthy fats and oils from your diet and increasing the amount of nutritionally dense food you eat. Doing that will naturally reduce the amount of carbs you want to eat. That strategy tends to lean towards the keto/carnivore diet, but that's just the extreme end.
I haven’t eaten anything processed in about 2 years. My only fats are whatever is on my beef or grassfed butter. My only carbs are fruit, honey, and maybe rice once a week. I recently did a food sensitivity test and found that I’m sensitive to dairy and eggs so I’m trying an elimination diet.
MAH DOOD that's great (lol) I think the electrolyte drink will help then 😊
Hey, I wanna fast also. Any site recommendation? 😃
https://drcate.com/dr-cates-march-2020-book-the-fatburn-fix/ Intermittent fasting can happen on its own if your body is burning healthy fats.
Thank you. I don't need loosing weight, I am fit. But want to reebost body. 😃
This isn't about losing weight. Fat burning is what your body does to fuel your body when you're not eating. Most people do not eat healthy fats nowadays and instead eat seed oils, which cannot be stored and burned later for energy. So many people physically cannot fast. So if you only eat healthy fats, you'll have an easier time fasting without even thinking about it.
I only use olive oil. Sometimes, from time to time, I use almond or avocado or sesame oil, add it in the end, when food done, or in salads. I know that fasting helps our body to regenerate and burn those invisible fats...is what I want. 🖖😃🫂
There is no way I couldn’t think about food or not be bothered by being hungry, but I find satisfaction in suffering. I have control of my mind despite my wants. It’s easy to talk yourself into doing the easy thing when you’re hungry so to have control over that is a small accomplishment for me. I don’t want to be like the normies, their weaknesses and constant capitulations are disgusting to me.
I like the way that Dr. Shanahan puts in in her books, that eating and fasting are not hard to do when you eat healthy food. So my goal is to find the diet that makes that true for me. What foods do I eat that make fasting something I don't even have to think about?
I’ve heard that too but haven’t found it to be completely true personally. I was a person who would eat every ≈3 hours in my fiat days, though not junk food or anything. But I have a very fast metabolism and an active brain so I’d eat often and I’d eat a lot everyday. Since switching to carnivore and being very disciplined with the regimen I now typically eat twice a day, something like 1+ lb of ground beef plus eggs in the morning and 1.5 lb of steak for dinner. Interval of eating is way down but I do still get hungry during the day, though a lot less hungry than when I ate carbs and sugar regularly. And I can handle the hunger no issue, where before I’d feel weak or light headed even. I’m not sure I’ll ever get to that Valhalla stage of not being hungry while fasting. But I can fast now and do when I travel or when I’m busy and it’s no issue. Whereas before it was not even an option.
Dude, nice. It might be an unattainable goal, but it'll pull me towards better health nonetheless.
Absolutely, it’s a great goal. I’m not trying to shit on it just sharing my experience. And who knows maybe things will change for me in time too. Regardless I’m a big fan of how I feel eating meat and am definitely at my best physically and mentally despite being almost 40. Pretty remarkable.
