I would like to test in Botswana. How can I help?
I tried downloading Strike app in Botswana and logging in with my email. After I put in the confirmation code I get a message saying: " Strike is currently not available in your region." "Region Unavailable" so that is currently the case in all of Botswana.

When in Italy?
Strike Europe is also very soon! Africa first tho
Great to hear Looking forward to having Strike in Europe I hope EU regulations will not make it impossible or unprofitable for you
Put the word out on Stacker News: https://stacker.news/items/379593/r/Nuttall
LFG! We desperately need Lightning native options across Africa nostr:note13ylf50mdcukrw5ult04nlpl8jgv9am0shwwalc5pxe9aj0grm00szcg9t2
Insane how Africa is getting this level of empowerment and financial freedom, while worthless DEI bureaucrats in NY continue to restrict Strike. Where is the president of Argentina when we need him… 🙄
we're hopeful to service NY in 2024 🤞
Somebody is paying attention 🎯
Are you paying attention @BITCOIN SAFARI TANZANIA & BITCOIN BEACH ZANZIBAR H...? This sounds awesome 👌
Yes brother sorry for late reply today I was very busy ,hope u had a very beautiful blessed Sunday .

Will #Uganda be part of it?
yep!
Open to test! Sent dm
I hope Zambia is on the list?
it is!
Wow! Looking forward 💯
Will there be a bank transfer option for Mexico soon? Cheers!
yes, our intended order: - Strike Africa - Strike EU - Strike LatAm
Do you have Bit Refill integration in Mexico?
Yes, there is BitRefill integration but there aren't as many shopping options as in the USA or Canada.
Got it.
If I sent 1000 sats to your strike lightning address, can it convert to pesos? Can it convert to USD(or a USD stablecoin)?
If I wanted pesos, I would have to convert the btc into USDT on my Strike app and then I would be able to do a bank deposit into a Mexican bank (the USDT would be converted into pesos).
AFRICA? You are still not launching in NY! Come on bro. Help Americans first 🙄
That's NY's fault, my man. Not Jack's.
Isn’t that bc of how hard NY makes it on them ? With all the regulation n licenses ? ps. I think Africa needs it more than Americans.
Yikes man
Contact your politicians. They made it really hard to operate in NY.
we're trying. it's NY that won't let me, not me
Any chance of Emirates ? Or other GCC countries?

We disagree. Builders gonna build, and fuck authority. @tyiu @ZEUS @f1b911af @zach @jon @Mister Great 😎♻️ 🚛 🍏 🗽 🥾 🌆 ... @AviBurra @Steve @p motherfuckin v @faraz
✊Power to the Resistance
fuck authority by paying taxes to your overlords who restrict financial freedom? I mean I guess you can claim you build hard enough in other areas to overcome that deficit.
Someone’s gotta ₿ the change, so I guess it’s gotta be us. Beats complaining about it from somewhere else and doing nothing.
There’s 2 schools of thought. Build around or it through it. It kind of mirrors the debate of whether it works bringing change from the inside. Most days I’m for around it but on certain days I think this can’t work. But the 2 prong approach wins
We need to keep the pressure on the bureaucracy. It’s been ten years since the BitLicense. It’s done nothing except consolidate power in institutions that have proven they can’t be trusted.
Would love all federal and state funded programs to disappear entirely. Have never been able to name a single one I feel can outperform similar options from the private sector.
I hear you, but IMHO that isn’t a realistic goal for probably our lifetimes. That’s why it’s important to focus on specific issues that have a chance of success, like repealing or drastically reforming the BitLicense.
BitLicense is a complete scam. “We don’t understand something, so until we do, it’s banned” is so short-sited. It takes a few YEARS for companies to go through the legal system just to be allowed to operate as normal as they can in 49 other states. Everyone knows this, and not sure who gave NY any authority to operate like this. It hinders innovation and business severely.
Exactly 👽
I’d say the exact opposite…you know you’re a hardcore bitcoiner if you live in New York. We have regulation here that limits access to using certain features of platforms that integrate Lightning and exchanges. For example Strike and CashApp. There are work arounds but those workarounds are not common to many.
Bitcoiners in NYC are the resistance ✊
I’d imagine that’s the same for the UK too. Regulation is getting very restrictive for bitcoin/money apps here. Basically can’t buy bitcoin with GBP without going to an exchange that has been KYC’d to the max. Pocketbitcoin was one of the latest to stop payments in GBP.
New regulations in the United Kingdom: The FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) has just introduced the new regulation "PS23/6: Financial promotion rules for cryptoassets" in the UK. This new regulation has come into force in the last few days in a fast-track process and means that from now on we will no longer be able to accept and process transactions in British pounds as we did previously.
Americans are least interested
Guess I'm moving to Africa! (maybe someday)
🤣 where are you now? we have big international plans this year
When UK?
this year fasho
Happy to help test, are you going to release in South Africa? And are you going to release your own strike card? At the moment VALR is the only option to get a card in South Africa!!! Huge opportunity -approx 70mil population in SA
yes to South Africa! 🇿🇦
Wow that’s awesome news, if you can get a debit card that can service the South African region, you’ll have some good support. There are allot of people working in SA who are from the surrounding countries and send and spend money back in their home country, so you will also get their support. Malawi 20M, Zimbabwe 16M, Lesotho 3M, Mozambique 34M plus SA 70M that’s a potential 150M marketing base! We are currently traveling and have been trying everything to get a card where we can start swiping and spending our Bitcoin through different layers. It’s been 5 years now and nothing has become available so this is fantastic news. If you need a Ginny Pig or any advice please reach out, we would love to help!
Hi Jack, you should launch SA at this conference end of Jan, 2024: https://adoptingbitcoin.org/capetown-2024/ you can just do a live stream or a prerecorded video explaining how to use the services in SA with a working example connecting to a local bank if possible? Just an idea.
When Japan? 🇯🇵
