Only from my own experience-
How how chilis are watered (especially the week or two before picking) has a significant effect on total capsaicin.
Commercial growers tend to water enough to produce larger fruit at the cost of lower capsaicin.

He generally disliked it, but my grandfather found the carbine to have a similar report to the 7.7 Arisaka.
As such, it was useful for getting enemy positions to expose their positions (thinking that they had begun firing on a target).
He mostly disliked it due to it's oiled design that caused the firing pin to stick in extremely low temperatures (during the Battle of Chosin).
