Can't recall the exact ones, but apparently we have provincial laws which mandate our municipalities to uphold very prescriptive maintenance standards (mowed turf, etc.) For cemeteries. Those rules complicated our proposal to the point that it made more sense to prioritize other spaces like low use lawn areas in certain parks, at least for now.

Not sure where you're located, but we tried to do some rewilding work on our cemeteries here in SW Ontario and ran into a lot of legal restrictions. Would love to hear about how your project goes, especially if you can provide advice for replication!

I think it was a Margaret Killjoy podcast that I was listening to recently that dealt with a very similar notion. If I recall correctly, middle and upper class women's virginity was prized but working class attitudes were much less shaming toward sex work. So it's not even necessarily as simple as a society being pro or anti, but looking at the schisms within that society too.

@134318c2 One particularly perverse aspect of this has been how peoples' retirement has shifted from public and company pensions towards market-based funds (RRSP, 401k, etc). Suddenly, in order to have the luxury to one day retire, workers are expected to "invest" their money in their own exploitation. The very companies these workers are funding turn around and use that cash to break strikes, buy politicians, and engage in all other manner of anti-worker activity.

Dang, thats a beefy banj.
If you're not familiar, you should check out Rhiannon Giddens! She does a lot of music and musical history work from the Black rural south, including a lot of stuff with older banjo styles that have fallen out of regular use. My #1 go-to on all things banjo.

@134318c2 I'd assume that honey fraud plays a big role as well. A lot of store honey is diluted with corn syrup or other cheap sweeteners (even when the ingredients just say honey). Raw honey is probably less likely to be diluted out because it tends to come from shorter supply chains.
A friend of mine keeps a small aviary in his yard and the honey is *chef's kiss*

I usually grab the plant by the stem and shake as much soil back into the pot as I can. The plant and its dirty root ball go in the compost. I use fresh compost and a bit of perlite instead of more potting soil to top up what the pot has lost.

It's quite simple really. You just need an industrial scale bat breeding program.
And even if it doesn't work, bats are great.
