Bring on the sauerkraut! For sure. It’s like a garden. It needs more seeds planted (probiotics), good fertilizer (prebiotics), and can get weeds (transient flora). However, there is still much to know. People eating meat only (carnivore diet) have some undeniable benefits but one of my main concerns is that, over time, they will starve out their good flora which may make returning to consumption of non-meat foods challenging. For the most part, my gut patients improve when they eat fermented foods - myself included.
The Brussels sprout is a member of the Gemmifera Group of cabbages (Brassica oleracea).
They contain high levels of vitamin C and vitamin K, with moderate amounts of B vitamins, such as folate and vitamin B6; essential minerals and dietary fiber exist in moderate to low amounts.
They also contain sulforaphane, a phytochemical superfood, which is produced when the enzyme myrosinase transforms glucoraphanin, a glucosinolate, into sulforaphane upon damage to the plant (such as from chewing), which allows the two compounds to mix and react. Although boiling reduces the level of sulforaphane, neither steaming, microwave cooking, nor stir frying cause a significant loss.

Vitamin U for Ulcers
Cabbage contains Vitamin U, S-Methylmethionine, which is not considered a true vitamin but its anti-ulcerogenic properties have been written about for years. If you have gastritis, stomach pains, or an ulcer you should be under the care of a physician but you may also benefit from cabbage juice.

I opened a Peertube instance. I wonder about its scalability. I’m also excited to see where nostr goes and how the fediverse will eventually merge. I’ve used the mostr bridge (so damn cool) but we still don’t have keys on our side to be able to hop clients.
Low Blood Pressure?
Could be Your Adrenal Glands.
The adrenal cortex produces a hormone called aldosterone which retains salt in the kidneys to prop up blood pressure. If you are unable to produce enough aldosterone your blood pressure will be low. If it is severe you will crave salt to compensate.

“The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) strongly opposes federal interference in medical decisions, including mandated vaccines. Governmental preemption of patients’ or parents’ decisions about accepting drugs or other medical interventions is a serious intrusion into individual liberty, autonomy, and parental decisions about child-rearing.”

Your Liver Makes Sugar
Gluconeogenesis is the metabolic process of making new sugar in the body from non-carbohydrate substances such as amino acids. This process primarily occurs in the liver and is triggered by stress hormones from the adrenal glands during times of stress, sudden drops in energy (hypoglycemia), and from taking stimulants (such as caffeine).
Gluco - means sugar neo - means new genesis - means creation

I love parallel economies and the potential is a complete escape from Big Tech. One nice aspect of fedi apps is the ability to post private or to followers only. It seems everything on nostr is a public relay. Do any of the clients allow for private feeds/posts/groups? Groups are coming to masto and pixelfed soon (from what I hear).
Now I’m nerding out about nostr. I still love the fediverse but it’s not actually web3 is it? You can take your profile and migrate it on a json file but it’s not the same and the possibilities aren’t scalable. I need to experiment more. I’ve played with so many platforms. More than anything I want to stay with one. Opening my own instance on the fedi has been a solution.
I opened a test account through Iris and pulled up my account on my phone through Amethyst. Very cool. How did you see my post coming from fedi? I know there’s a mostr bridge but how do I access the fedi through my nostr profile? I tried searching but…nothing.
Thyroid Issues and Menstruation
Painful cycles, abnormal bleeding, and threatened miscarriage may all be signs that a patient has thyroid dysfunction.
Thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH) is produced by the hypothalamus to regulate thyroid function through the anterior pituitary gland. It has a direct effect on ovarian function. This means that thyroid problems may start in the thyroid or they may actually start in the brain causing a cascade of hormonal imbalances.
Changes in thyroid function may also negatively affect other important hormones that help to regulate the menstrual cycle:
sex hormone-binding globulin
gonadotrophin-releasing hormone
prolactin
gonadotropin-releasing hormone
Signs of thyroid dysfunction:
weight gain/loss
dry skin
brittle hair or hair loss
feeling cold
elevated cholesterol
depressed feeling or anxious
shaky
If you are experiencing difficulty with regulating your menstrual cycle then it’s important to investigate the cause of the problem. If a doctor simply puts a patient on the birth control pill, without exploring the cause of the problem, then they are only treating the symptom which is a negligent approach at best.
