If you haven’t read it already, I think you might enjoy “Seeing Like a State” by James C Scott.
He talks about being “illegible” to the state. That’s stuck with me in my dealings with govt
White vinegar in some sort of diffuser does actually work.
I put some out in the middle of our yard on days they’re spraying and it consistently leaves a clear patch of sky above us.

The reality is it probably needs to be a small team of people.
When we left for 2+ months this summer we hired an insured pet sitter for the chicken care, bartered with a neighbor for plant care and luckily had a tenant who could look after all the other random things.

It’s not that hard- you’re either pro-freedom to choose both OR that the govt should be able to dictate.
You can’t be pro for one and anti the other, yet so many people are 🤦♂️
