I made a volts wagon. #grownostr #solar https://image.nostr.build/4bfdcc2bc1e911de31479454d85733407bb27155e60b42401ce67bbad018a474.jpg https://image.nostr.build/19c497ce6b354854b1c01cabaf1c50766c33b8585de33348e8e91afa4e600eac.jpg
That’s epic
Thanks. This will be very helpful building an offgrid homestead
Very cool Also 10/10 pun
Thanks. I might have to find a vw emblem for it
Is volts wagon an established term for this contraption? if not you need to trademark it, genius
Lol. I'll refer anyone who uses this term to this note
If you made a YouTube video on how you did this you’d probably get a million views
I've been interested in information on how to do something like this. Would love to be able to run a small rig off something like this.
I just ordered a kit on amazon that came with the panels and charge controller and everything to hook up to a battery. I already had the inverter. I had to make some cables to connect the batteries in parallel with 8 awg after my brother bought 4 lithium deep cycle batteries. It was pretty easy to figure out. I still need to hook up the cigarette lighter/ USB thingy sold for boats. I may get a fuse box to do this. https://www.amazon.com/Renogy-200W-12V-Monocrystalline-Controller/dp/B06VY9DVY9?th=1&psc=1
Brilliant! I’m gonna have to build one of these
I did this one on a furniture dolly. I want to add a second charge controller and another panel for redundancy. And swap the inverter for a pure sine wave model https://image.nostr.build/4c70dff9ee49c79c1fb117fe4fc8e92b0779398dec64a0fc4ac51d60b60a62e1.jpg https://image.nostr.build/cbcc93f81f077df6ec1bfec342d6aef2f749ad45aad79966c9e2ac448b4cf8d1.jpg https://image.nostr.build/083841f61c6e13ae1431a4c77c5337958f33ecdb29523a18b660e2fd647b5d3f.jpg
Nice looking cart. Good idea to get a backup. I think I will get a generator for a backup
What are you going to power with it? How many amp hour?
Four 100 Ah batteries connected in parallel = 400 Ah.
Correct, 4 100 Ah batteries
I will use it to power corded power tools and charge my cordless tools and trolling motor battery. Occasionally I'll use it for a sewing machine or vacuum sealer. I will use it to pump water when I get a well put in. I want to find an electric percolator or I may get a tea kettle so I don't have to have a fire to make coffee when camping. Once in a while you find those at thrift stores, this was the way people made coffee before the crappy plastic drip machines took over. Plastic and coffee 🤮 I have more capacity than I can currently use
I love it & want my own one! I don't think mine will be as pretty as your VW though.
Thanks. All the supplies for the cart were salvaged from the local recycling center except for the roof and hardware. The plastic that I used to wrap it came from inside TVs.
Fanatstic.
this is very cool
I like it!
😑…
Lol amazing
