You are right it must be settled in dollars. However, it was never your bitcoin and you’re selling ibit shares back to the market, not to Blackrock. Blackrock’s bucket increases and decreases based on whether people want to give them dollars to convert or receive dollars.
I still think it will transform the developing world. Right now it’s still easier for wealthier people to take risk. For example, I think I’m right about bitcoin, but if I’m wrong I still have a good job and can start again without missing a meal. Once Bitcoin is widely perceived as the safe option, that’s when I’d guess it starts to transform the people who have always worked hard but don’t have access to a stable financial system.
All stocks trade 24/7 if you are a big enough trader and participate in pre-markets. It’s only retail waiting to get in on what the institutions have been doing over the weekend. That’s why trading is a loosing game and buy and hold is what most often works long term.

💯. I don’t disagree. No doubt the US printing money and acquiring bitcoin is good for bitcoin and will pump my stack in $ terms. I’m just not good intentionally stealing from my countrymen to pump my stack and I don’t trust government to use the value they have stolen for honorable purposes.
My opinion is governments should not hold reserves other than to meet a few months expenses. The citizens should hold reserves. It is then on government to provide services worthy of being funded by citizens.
Lots of scared people today contemplating what they’ll do if government no longer funds their pay. Having to provide value the market actually desires is scary for them.
I’m happy with my Liberty safe. I’m primarily protecting items from fire and an undetermined/hurried thief. If I wanted protection from Feds or a professional with time, I’d have to spend a lot more money. I don’t think storing bitcoin keys on my own property subject to a search warrant or wrench attack is a good idea, so not worried about that.
I’m sorry to hear that. I can only recommend turning off the “news” and take an assessment of your life. You’ll probably find you can live a nice life either way. I strongly prefer one outcome in this election. If it doesn’t go my way I’ll just consider it one more data point on understanding where I live. 💯. The people don’t pick leaders. The leaders (citizens) pick representatives. Representatives have no inherent power except that which the governed willing submit to.
Oh I recognize heir power is real not imaginary. If a majority of the people consent to the way they govern then they have power. So be it. I don’t live in fear, they can only kill my body. My hope is in the Lord which is why I already experience true freedom regardless of the circumstances around me. The fact that my life is awesome right now doesn’t change my opinion that the government should fear the people more than the people should fear the government.
I’m thankful Arizona doesn’t play that game. Daylight shifting time would at least have been a more honest name. Universal Time on a 24hr clock is the proper way to conceive of coordinated time.

So strange that they think they have a say in these things. The network is outside their control and they can’t stand it. It’s like the FAA deciding they will now regulate all bird flight procedures.
