So, I’m following as advanced photography class.
The basic class was about moving from using camera presettings to manual mode.
In the advanced class we are talking about different topics:
~ exposure compensation
~ portraits
~ how to use flash
~ post production
~ a bit of street photography
Together with the theoretical lessons we are also doing some hands on, in order to fully grasp the concepts. Moreover, there will be two outside sessions, one during the day and one during the night. Plus, some homework!
I do not know about pricing, this class was a gift from my friends!
I went #nostronly on my photography journey, because here I find my work more valued than on Instagram.
The possibility to monetize my work (even for negligible amounts) made me focus my time and energy here. Likes are free, zaps are not!
Moreover, the absence of an obscure algorithm allows me to post every now and then instead of continuously spending time on social media to create more (fake) engagement!
Some tests using Dark Table on this picture of the inside of the Pavia Dome.
What do you think?

I will attend a photography class in my local area in the next months (it was a present so I don’t remember price)! I’ll get back to you with some feedbacks :)
Hey fellow photographers!
Is anyone of you using Dark Table to post-process their photos? What do you think of it?

I think that it needs to make people feel something.
A photograph can be technically perfect, but if it does not have an impact on the viewer it is reduced to simple informations.
Yes, monetization through #zaps is a killer features for small audience photographers.
It’s difficult for us (I’m including myself) to monetize our work on other platforms, but here it is actually possible. I’m just an amateur, but the possibility to earn some value here is mind blowing!
I think that the problem is that some clients show things from other protocol, like Mastodon. Thus, notes you see are not really from nostr and the creators are probably not even aware of your likes/follows, etc.
However, I do not really know how the integration works, so I could be wrong.
Thanks for the answer!
I have 3 lenses:
• 15-45mm F3.5
• 35mm F1.8
• 50-230mm F4.5
I’m considering buying a 18-55, more versatile than the others I have!
The first one isn’t that good, it was the default one on my camera and has electronic zoom. That’s why I would like that new one! :)
No lights, for now I’m just concentrating on landscapes! What do you suggest for starting portraits?
