How many of you guys here are #nostr only?
For how long have you been and what was that transition like?
As a photographer and artist, I sometimes find it hard to go all-in on Nostr and leave behind my Instagram and other social accounts, mostly because of the connections I’ve made. But I really do love Nostr and understand how much better it is here.

I'm all nostr. I didn't do social media before nostr other than my space. Lol. I had a facebook account, but deleted that years ago
I remember having a my space before I went to Facebook. The thing with Facebook for me is that I really love using the marketplace for selling and buying things. Is there anything like that here on Nostr? Perhaps that’s something that could be worked on
I still have Insta, Snapchat, and GroupMe just for group chats with the boiz. 95% of my "social media" is nostr though.
Yeah, I still have Instagram for sharing my work, but it’s becoming less and less appealing. Do you use threads at all?

I think it'd be tough to leave Instagram as a photographer, at least until there's a nostr alternative. Even then you could still utilize Instagram to guide people over to your work on nostr. No Threads for me. I just had an internet drop, but it should be good to go now.
Yeah I’ve been trying to trickle little hits of nostr info for people there but it’s difficult to get them interested
I went nostr only because I only used Twitter. Had 15k followers but I could tell I was shadow banned during covid and nobody would ever reply or see my tweets. After going nostr only I enjoy the feed and interaction more.
If I were you I would keep the other platforms for now but try to slowly move your followers over to nostr
Yep, that’s what my intuition has been telling me. Little by little
been here for a few months. Just recently left behind LinkedIn to focus on nostr. Nostr-only works great for me, as I mainly care about the Bitcoin niche.

What client are you using the most? Primal? Has it been easy for you to navigate relays and such? And are you running your own node?
Use Primal the most. Use Damus when I want to copy the relays of another npub. Not a node runner yet.
I'm more open source only . Like I use peertube for videos and pixelfed for photography.

I went #nostronly on my photography journey, because here I find my work more valued than on Instagram.
The possibility to monetize my work (even for negligible amounts) made me focus my time and energy here. Likes are free, zaps are not!
Moreover, the absence of an obscure algorithm allows me to post every now and then instead of continuously spending time on social media to create more (fake) engagement!
100% feel that as well. It would be really cool to maybe do a video podcast with you as we can talk about photography and our experience on nostr would this be something you’d be into doing with me?

I’m seriously considering going all Nostr especially after a photo of mine earlier attracted a lot of great feedback and zaps. I’ve not touched any of Metas platforms for ages. I’m on them but just not interested anymore. Apart from Substack, Nostr is getting more attention from me.

Nostr has been getting all of my attention lately as well but I still have accounts open on both the gram and such. Hopefully soon transition once I get a better grasp on nostr relays and setting up a few other things. Would love to have you on a podcast. Yep. Nostr only now. Last one to go was Instagram I think 3 months ago.
The transition is that I only need one app to have "twitter and insta like" experience.
Other than that I am running two relays now. But no big change at all.
Very cool. How are you managing your relays? What sort of content lives there and what client do you use the most?
I use Amethyst the most and then Spring App.
I just choose some relays at the start.
