I am loving being a parent.
My husband and I dropped my daughter off at a birthday party. We had two hours before picking her up so we played one-on-one basketball 🏀 while we waited.

The teachers & childcare workers I’ve spoken to since my daughter’s birth have all told me that young kids should not be exposed to tablets & phones, especially if they’re unsupervised. Could be Disney or some independent production, doesn’t matter - the results are more or less the same.
My family is lucky in that my husband and I take turns reading her bedtime stories. We chose not to expose her to animated content when she was a baby & toddler.
Now she can watch two or three supervised episodes of Comfy Couch a week. (It’s the only kids’ show she knows because she saw it at my parents’ house 😂 Wait until she finds out what she’s been missing out on 😂😂😂😂)

Maintaining flexibility and core strength seems to help in minimizing injury, especially when practicing with an experienced judoka who will put you in an arm lock or throw you without hesitation.
The thing about a judoka is that once they have a grip on you, it's over. You're seeing the mat.

This era is far more commercial than the 90s and previous eras. Refs don't call traveling, double dribbles, "carrying", etc. anymore. It's more show than anything.
And it is a lot softer. MJ had to survive playing against The Detroit Pistons.
I learned a lot about resilience recording this episode. It’s one thing to speak about resilience, and it’s another to live through tragedy and have to practice it.
That said, somehow I still managed to spark a debate about the basketball G.O.A.T.
I stand by MJ.

I like your take on determinism vs. free will… Indeed it is noble and fulfilling to surrender to something higher than oneself. In contrast, being knocked about in life without agency is, IMO, one of the worst things ever.
I personally feel a sense of security when I have a clear goal in mind, and I work towards it consistently. It’s a form of surrender yet it also guides my choices so that I’m not “gallivanting” (nod to my pops for the expression) aimlessly.

I just got access to the Proton wallet.
So far, it’s pretty easy and seamless to use.
In terms of privacy, it is of course linked to an email address.
Per Proton’s guide, a new #Bitcoin address from my pool is sent to each sender to avoid address reuse.
Anyone else have experience using the Proton wallet?

Proton doesn’t have lightning capabilities.
When I tested it out, Onchain fees were really low and the transactions confirmed very quickly.
I’m not based in the US. Haven’t tried Strike.
In terms of Zaps, I still use WoS. I downloaded it when it first came out. No issues. BUT it’s custodial. So tiny transactions only.
Phoenix has a decent Bolt12 solution but there have been times when transactions did not go through.
We did wrist grap escapes in my Judo / Self-defense class last night.
Another student taught me a thumb lock.
Savage.
A reminder that I don't always have to "go big", for lack of a better term. Finger locks are painful AF.

It’s actually not so bad.
You just let the water flow and wash with soap. There’s no “poop soup” 😂
No matter how well you wipe with TP, you’ll never be as clean as you would be using soap and water.
The Japanese bum gun and dryer sound appealing… You have the benefit of having a clean bottom without getting your hands dirty.
