Ewwww.
Semisol and I have fallen out in the past over nostr stuff, so this opportunistic shill of his own project also has personal attack slant ("management"), which horrifically unfair to all the great contributors LNbits has.
Find me a foss bitcoin project that hasn't had vulnerabilities, especially one still in beta! Soon we have the architecture hardened enough to get core fully audited. All those millions of hours of foss dev time to get there has been trampled on by Semisol pure opportunism. This article could written about ANY bitcoin project that handles payments. LNbits continues to improve rapidly, it's infinitely better than 6 months ago, and will be infinitely better in 6 months more, that's how software works.
We ourselves run a demo sever I the wild, with live funds on that we test cutting edge improvements on. It's been running 4 years, attacked in every direction. Users have had accounts for 4 years! (I myself have plugged funds that were lost in the first few years, when sure the software was bad).
How utterly obnoxious this article is.
DNIs new user manager will make easy, although you could send to another wallet and delete the wallet, that would work.
I'm sure DNI would be happy to have tester of his branch though, if you want that feature sooner.
I said this on my panel at btc Atlantis. This is why we need to make the non-bitcoiner nostr experience far far less bitcoiny, and not do things like recommend only bitcoiners to follow on a client install. Once they're in and guard is down BOOM, we zap them into submission with our superior payments tech
I didn't sell to shitcoiners, despite them offering eye-watering money - this also scared me into pursuing dot org much more, as I imagined they would try and get for shitcoins.
Having dot org does make for profit activity less evil on dot com, as it was being a protocol and commercial page before. Dot com will make this very clear and have load of links to dot org, and won't overstep 👍
Well not entirely created by someone else 😂
Its well documented me asking for months when our community could be counted on 2 hands for someone to secure these domains. I eventually secured (at a substantial personal cost may I add), shitcoiners offered me $5m for dot com and I didn't sell, sooooo
New LNbits release (0.12.0 DNI)!
This is a BIG update for LNbits, as well as a tonne of general fixes and updates, we now have a very powerful login system, better tools for querying transactions, mobile UI improvements 🚀🚀🚀
https://github.com/lnbits/lnbits/releases/tag/0.12.0
Named after the great dnilabs, who started contributing to LNbits after building the breakthrough LNbits Boltz extension.
DNI is one of LNbits most prolific maintainers, as well as fixing bitcoin scaling with Boltz 😍
👀 Remember to check your extensions for updates as well, between 0.11.3 and 0.12.0 many of the extensions have new releases 🔥
Do on lnbits via lnurlp extension. Gives them an LN address also 👍
Feel free to use demo server, you can even push funds to their own wallets using the crib extension
Private banks can all be part of a federation and continue to produce debt based currency. Ecash is very useful for upgrading our current fiat system. For bitcoin it has weak anti-regulatory properties.
I much prefer to "trust" a service, than a murky federation. Don't underestimate how hard federations are, look at shitcoinland and a the sybll attacks.
It's has use cases, albeit underground or building something like a CBDC, but general ecash use cases are limited to countries that won't sanction under money printing laws (federation doesn't fix this)
There is a reason bitcoin uses this clunky blockchain thing 😂
Ecash is a liberty dollar. You're giving your bitcoin to someone and they're giving you their own currency they created, which they claim has x value. In an Austrian econ utopia that would be fine and dandy, but 8n the real world govs tend to like keeping that monopoly for themselves.

'All for ourselves, and nothing for other people, seems, in every age of the world, to have been the vile maxim of the masters of mankind.' Adam Smith
True for capitalism also.
I am utterly unafraid of CBDCs.
The hysteria is mostly formed from superficial doom-circle-jerk analysis. Successful CBDCs will be a private federated ecash (or something very similar), the wisest built on the Bitcoin stack:
* Private banks will not sacrifice their power over money production via debt (as mints' status quo can continue).
* Privacy/fungibility and acquiring users overrides any Stalinist incentives.
* All we need is 1 sovereign currency producing country to use a fedi-like system built on Bitcoin, Gresham's law will do the rest.
* Building digitally native money is really fucking hard, do not underestimate the work we have done, and how governments will make use of it.
Zoom out. Post WW2 monetary order was a design choice, the next will be for apolitical money as world reserve currency, (let's not be humble) Bitcoin really is the best candidate.
Sovereign currency-producing countries, who actually do their homework, know all this. Having a native digital currency entirely interoperable with other countries' currency via its apolitical base (Bitcoin) IS the solution we are tip-toeing towards. Humanity moves toward greater liberation.
As time wears on, and liquidity pours in bitcoin, it will become stable enough to use naively. Whether people will use really depends on how poorly their CBDC treat them.
This is how hyperbitcoinisation happens.
LNBITS DEMO SERVER ANNOUNCEMENT:
We will SOON be switching the LNbits demo server to the login branch.
This means you'll need to make an account, and the user won't just be saved in the url. It also means you'll need to log out or use a different browser to switch accounts.
Wow, paid $40 on fees for transaction today 🚀🤩
bitcoin IS digital gold (with commodity use cases we may not agree with), secured deep in a Swiss bunker with guards. Onchain being expensive to move should be expected. Just because we had a time with low demand, shouldn't skewer expectations.
The sooner Onchain low fee enviroment ends, the better. People need incentives to work on actual scaling solutions, LN, Liquid, swaps will work great for now.
Futures bright 🔥
Expect $10000s. Bitcoin can and will be accessed by the world and trans per sec are low Onchain.
I look forward to my grandchildren thinking it amazing I once did an onchain transaction.
I think there has been a misunderstanding. I'm saying when bitcoin is working properly, it will be very rare any 1 human makes an onchain transaction for just sending value.
Spot on. This idea of obfuscating keys is dumb. If explaining to an alien our legacy login system and keys, keys are waaaaayy simpler. Also, the whole point is we are arming people with the most powerful tool of liberation, public key crypto.
Opportunistic shill right there.
It's impossible to announce a rugpull.
This is just disabling cashu extension on our demo server, and giving few weeks notice, about as far from a rugpull as possible.
