@a2f3726b itโ€™s a reasonable Q that Iโ€™m sure will be asked in state (though I suspect mostly also in bad faith). I do wonder if itโ€™s different in CA where (it seems to me anyway) people are constantly moving in and out (dammit now I want a burger). I mean, 15ish years living in LA and (briefly) Santa Cruz and I donโ€™t think anyone once asked me where I went to high school

@a2f3726b well and โ€œuprootedโ€ here is complicated. Senator needs a DC apartment (already arranged) and a CA apartment (might still own?) and then spend all their CA time in hotels away from said apartment anyway because itโ€™s a big state

@a2f3726b well, yes, but qualified is such a low bar. She lives in MD because sheโ€™s running a national PAC and you mostly do that in DC. She spent 20 years in CA politics so knows the state. That she wasnโ€™t already running for the office is clearly more justification than reason but I might even kinda like it: this is a person who knows state politics and national policy but hasnโ€™t been running for office her whole life.

@a2f3726b and sure Iโ€™m a big fan of democracy and maybe he could have picked somebody whoโ€™s ever been elected by voters to some office. But this is a patronage pick and any governor would treat it as such. Iโ€™m often kinda lukewarm on Newsom but this pick, this is at least interesting
This morning listening to the news I heard Governor Gavin Newsom appoint Laphonza Butler to repla...

@edbba727 flywheel.io is not a bad place to work and weโ€™re mostly even doing something constructive rather than selling eyeballs. Iโ€™m not involved in any recruiting or hiring but would be happy to talk generally about the company if you see a role you might be suited for
