@a2f3726b and sure I’m a big fan of democracy and maybe he could have picked somebody who’s ever been elected by voters to some office. But this is a patronage pick and any governor would treat it as such. I’m often kinda lukewarm on Newsom but this pick, this is at least interesting

I guess I should have specified by "qualified" I meant currently living and a registered voter of that state, not "qualified" as in a political crony or shill.

I'm all for new, fresh people and ideas coming into politics.
