It’s not hard to start, but it’s hard to self diagnose hardware failures and perform recovery when failures occur.
I still have funds stuck on chain because I don’t know how to use chantools to sweep timelocked funds from a force close between my node and personal Blixt wallet.
“Just use the command line”
The inevitable problems are where running a node is hard, and the average person will struggle to recover their money.
Bitcoin is producing metadata that no one is currently mining to my knowledge. It has been since genesis; most past metadata is completely unretrievable without inference, and would be inaccurate. But the future metadata is really what’s important. It would literally change the paradigm of energy markets, energy grids and thus all capital markets.
This metadata can really only be mined via the cooperation and coordination of pools and miners. You need to know information about the system, like all things we engineer and design.
Then you realize that multiple competing mining pools are actually an inefficiency of the system, yet necessary to protect bitcoins entire security model.
Why do we arbitrarily pick who’s hash is valid to be paid out when a block is mined and discard the rest of the network hash as invalid, and not worthy of receiving payout? Why?
Can you actually build a decentralized mining pool? If that is the case that we can, why do we need more than one? The dichotomy of greed and security is…crazy. But I am just a civil engineer.

It’s been a very tough week. My best friends brother passed away at 30 from cancer. Gathering with old friends from over 15 years ago brought be to a place I haven’t been in years.
Fuck cancer, we are all being poisoned. I now finally see all the damage done to the millennial generation. Many of us are hurting in so many varying ways.
RIP MPM
Holy shit, living in a house I can call my own is truly life changing.
My fiancé and I have been duo’ing a 670 sqft apartment since 4/2020 to stack more sats. Citadel acquired. #TGFB
Old Fart Friends (5.10d). Definitely the best hard 10 at Farley. Starts left of the low roof. Blunt arete, slab/bulge, roof and face all in one.
It’s really on you once you get your feet established on the last “ledge” along the slab. Cheeky crux at the last bolt. #PTCOL #climbing #crimpstr

Gut says bitcoin does something big this weekend. The charts for $ethbtc and $btc.d are screaming a huge move is here.
Low liquidity weekend, tradfi stuck unless prepared? Ruggening upwards? We’ll see
#Depeppening
Just got my signed offer back for my citadel. Things are in motion, can’t say I’m not nervous; but the excitement!
My fiancé and I have been crammed in a 760sqft condo since covid of 2020. Living way under our means with hiking or rock climbing many days of the week, enjoying simple life.
Now we begin the process of transmuting years of stored proof of work into physical proof of work. Thank you Bitcoin.
#Bitcoin looks ready to depeg from the dollar and crypto at the same time.
The charts are printing some pretty historic things $ethbtc $btc.d
All I see is gold bugs and fiat brain dancing on bitcoins grave awaiting the next round of puking.
Who’s right?
Ok, how the hell do I sweep funds stuck in a time lock address from a LND channel that was forced closed? This happened months ago so the timelock is expired.
The node crashed (Blixt) and all I have is the private key. Who has integrated this yet without needing a command line? Its a decent amount of corn 😬

Why is it so hard for people to understand that if the money does not hold value over time, the material you exchange if for will likely not retain value/quality over time; unless there is information asymmetry.
There’s few hard workers and producers left to fool. Now the fools are the consumers who think they can still buy quality.
This gets exponentially worse when looking at longer term infrastructure (houses, bridges, utilities). Proof of work is dead and gone.
I hate the bureaucracy of the government, but it seems we need bitcoiners who understand this principle to be in the DOT making decisions, or we risk losing all of our past work IMO. I am confident I can manage infrastructure better than the DOT simply with the lens of bitcoin at my side.
How do I break my way in?
OP (orange pill) fitness; a gym which combines the disciplines of climbing (bouldering), parkour and cross fit for exercise with resources for hot/cold therapy and breathing for recovery.
Would precoiners bite at this or is it too niche?
Is zap.stream the closest thing to twitch for nostr? Who is hosting the stream and would they have the same pressures to censor copyright content?
Being a giganerd, private servers in video games have peaked my interests; especially when the community devs are more competent at creating a genuine fun experience than the original game company. The fiat effect.
Streaming private servers to twitch is the fastest way to a ban/copyright strike. Does zap.stream actually fix this?
Wow for example has the blizzard sponsored servers which you pay subscription for.
There are numerous community built private servers offering different versions of the game, some original & some modded, which offer a different experience and are typically free.
These servers are gaining in popularity as blizzard is incompetent in actually delivering a game/community that people like and want to play on.
Blizzard is definitely working with twitch/YouTube to remove all content from said private servers. Content creators can’t stream these private servers on centralized streaming platforms without risk of ban.
Here’s an example of a private server.

Bitcoin is about to have its Independence Day. You can feel it.
#Bitcoin will soon declare independence from shitcoins. It’s going to be wild when the pegs blow.
In my zen.
The only thing better than low angle slab, is wet low angle slab. Make the best of your rainy days.

Bukele interview was inspiring.
I don’t want to leave Connecticut, but it’s a deep blue state; the heart of fiat with Yale and the entire metro coastline to NYC.
Turning the state and politics around is like moving a tanker. We’re getting squeezed dry and the political sphere is accelerating to full degeneracy of American ideals.
Hedge or stay pot committed?
There’s so much opportunity to make meaningful change in El Salavador on both the Civil Engineering front and business ideas.
The bureaucracy of working with the Feds and local DOT is getting acceleratingly worse. Inflation is squeezing the honest workers and businesses dry. Infrastructure is going to take a huge hit. We didn’t get to rebuild post WW2 and we fucked up bad. Not only do we need to maintain our infrastructure, but we must redesign and rebuild from all of our mistakes made during the central planning of our highways and infrastructure.
If you aren’t going to be friendly towards bitcoin; it might be time.

Got the orange yak out on the CT river this weekend. We had just enough space for our tents and sleeping bags. Crazy the number of miles we managed to do in two days in this thing.

Is there a proper way to view this? Blank page when I open from primal. Also error 500 when I open from wikifreedia from browser. I can check it out later on my desktop to see if similar issues.
Once I get a feel for the landscape I can try to input some local climbs so that we have some data to work with.
Unfortunately im not much of a coder 😅
Real estate is hyperinflating. I cannot win a home.
I bid $510k on this home, which is 20% over listing price and I was beat by 2 other offers just on price alone.
People who say RE is about to collapse are wrong. Desirable locations are hyper-inflating even at 7% rates.

Sometimes I hate the climbing ethics in CT. The best bolted crag I know of in the state is in the north end of New Haven. One of the few places where bolts aren’t chopped.
The crag is in the hood; 5 minute walk from some housing projects.
Despite that, there some killer lines, hard n slabby with some sweet roofs. Few spacey bolts can make for some good whips.

Yeah I would imagine it’s nice. It just sucks that New Haven is the best we can do for a bolted crag because of the ethics.
It’s slowly changing but we won’t have fully developed sport walls like neighboring states. Only the few hush walls that remain off mountain project.
The whole 180° spin and speed of the eth etf take being political bait for Biden admin is such a normie take to believe imo.
Look at $ethbtc and $btc.d the trend is so clear and obvious. We know who the insiders are in crypto and the eth presale. Imo they are just using their power politically and pulling the levers to defend the eth price and thus the peg to bitcoin. Eth is the proxy for all of crypto.
Crypto is levered long via a short btc position. Ethbtc must have gotten close to the pain point for many institutions that are too big to fail.
The centralization of eth is so obvious. Fiat2.0
Its economics; not politics.
I will have to grab some photo/video next time I’m at the gym. Was working the new slab set yesterday; V7/V8 is my hard stop limit; I can project a few 7’s on slab.
V6 is my hard stop on steep overhang.
Letting my skin heal and muscles rest for the long weekend in US; the question is, sport or trad on Saturday?
Talking heads of twitter always speak of a looming Real Estate collapse.
These people haven’t actually tried buying a home recently.
Bids 10% over listing don’t cut it. Outbid again with better terms. Sorry I wanted an inspection on a home built in 1900.
Hyperinflation.
Is there a way to get nostr notifications (primal/Damus) to show on Home Screen? The second I minimize either app I don’t receive notifications until I re-enter the app. Why is this?
This open source moonboard looks really interesting.
I want my own board/spray wall; this seems like a great alternative.
These boards are all about community and sharing once you create a standard hold/foot placement. I could imagine being zapped for cool lines/technique focused lines.

#Climbing has been my proof of work. This V6 taught me a nice lesson today; don’t always rush for the reward (jug finish hold) sometimes you have to move your feet first. Don’t be greedy.
A nice crimpfest problem.

Most people don’t know that bitcoin is an energy market that defines the exchange rate of bitcoin <==> watts every block.
Mining is the decentralized clearing house for the exchange.
This means we also can define blockspace in watts per mb; and we can define time in watts. It’s all energy and the bid for block space (and time) is a free market.
A decentralized gigapool is arguably the end game in this context.
Decentralized block templates is step 1 of many.
Is it actually possible to decentralize the coinbase + fee payout? This seems to be the beast, and why we must have multiple pools. Security of the network trumps efficiency, always.
Multiple pools from a systems perspective is inefficient and lowers the amount of energy that can be exchanged for bitcoin per block. Why is it efficient to have an entire group of hash outside of your pool invalid? You don’t pay them for their hash when you find a block, they don’t pay you.
Why?
Could you ever imagine a world where the machine who produces the valid nonce creates the block template but ALL hash is paid for their work? It’s opt-in; sure those who are greedy can solo mine, but why would they want to?
Those who can define their local energy (watts) in global energy (bitcoin) at the highest frequency will be able to make the best decisions. We’re very far away from this.
Have miners actually thought about the end game? I feel like the debates about bitcoin/mining/energy/infrastructure are still very primitive.
We’re engineering an energy system for global cooperation, not competition.
Singularity.
Have you seen this? My gym doesn’t have a moonboard but another brand. Found this FOSS version. 🤔

I’m trying to look into this as I would like to build a board for myself/private gym.
I would assume 3D printed for lowest cost. I’m not too familiar with the process of hold creation; I’m sure high end is not 3D.
I’ve been thinking about approaching the guy who created these fake stones (feel like real stones), for CT Freedom Fest, to see if he can produce climbing holds at a competitive price to plastic. Game changer if so.
Imagine building a rocklike crack in the gym 🤯 #jamstr

Climbing feels like to me the least aggressive form of martial arts; except it’s not player v player, it’s player v environment.
Incredible amounts of discipline and proof of work. The entire environment is a problem to solve. The efficiency of your energy moving through the problem/routes (space).
The state of flow and focus when you are locked in to a climb is the ultimate zen. Enduring the pain of the crux is an indescribable reward.
When you get something running please let me know. I am very interested. I can definitely help get my local beta in there with updated photos of climbs I’ve done. I pass a ton of stuff hiking too.
I plan to only stick to crags/routes which already have public internet beta.
We have to see how the ethics around that evolves.
Why is it bad for someone to store the image forever on the timechain with immutable history if they pay the fees to do so?
You could literally fetch the image in perpetuity so long as you know the txid
