I think I'm getting Lightning figured out. Slowly. I have Zeus installed and created an invoice but haven't opened a channel yet because I don't know how to get any of my on chain Bitcoin onto Lightning. Oh and I don't know how to connect my Lightning address into my Nostr profile yet. Baby steps.
When did nostr:nprofile1qqsxpfwtq34xpnqy9djsg7jjayq3rrst95r4xflje0nqlwjjwhfhrycpzpmhxue69uhkumewwd68ytnrwghszxthwden5te0wfjkccte9eekummjwsh8xmmrd9skctcpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhse6ztph stop doing Bitcoin related project updates in the podcast? I just realized I hadn't heard any for like a year.
I struggle with content creation.
I copy other people's code.
I don't have a finance background.
I don't have a hair streak like BTCSessions.
I can't even get nostr verified.
But I desire to give back to the community that has changed my life.
I will keep on thinking. There has to be an opportunity for me somewhere.
If nostr:nprofile1qqsqfjg4mth7uwp307nng3z2em3ep2pxnljczzezg8j7dhf58ha7ejgpz4mhxue69uhkummnw3ex2mrfw3jhxtn0wfnszynhwden5te0wahhgtn4w3ux7tn0dejszxthwden5te0wdjkuerfwshxummnvekxzun99e3k7mgrcp7e2 ever posts in lower case, call the police.
It's no secret that I'm not a fan of our government. I love our country but the government needs an enema.
A person who apparently has grown tired of my posts on Facebook told me to run for office so I could fix the problem. The fault with that suggestion is that by becoming part of the system, I become part of the problem. And a problem that politicians created cannot be fixed by other politicians because the system incentivizes politicians to better their own financial position, and not act in the best interest of their constituents, UNLESS their constituents are giving them money.
So the only way to fix the system is by opting out of it. And only after you become angry enough about it will you see the answer.
I took some time to watch nostr:nprofile1qqsw4v882mfjhq9u63j08kzyhqzqxqc8tgf740p4nxnk9jdv02u37ncpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9uju6mpd4czuumfw3jsz9nhwden5te0wfjkccte9ec8y6tdv9kzumn9wsq3yamnwvaz7tmsw4e8qmr9wpskwtn9wvql3tqm's presentation at Princeton on "Broken Money" and appreciated a recognized institution being open to hosting her to further educate the common person on what we all know.
However, my observation is that the audience was mostly already Bitcoiners or friends of Bitcoin. So why is it that so few people actually care why they are being stolen from, and instead think that changing political figureheads will change their financial situation???
Winamp - it really whips the llama's ass.

Why should people take financial advice from business owners? Frankly, people shouldn't take financial advice from anyone, even the "professional financial advisors."
People should take responsibility for themselves instead of outsourcing it to someone else, learn how the money system works, and make the long term financial investments in hard assets that they see best fit for themselves.
#asknostr What's your preferred mobile friendly #lightning wallet that supports LNurl send and receive? Blue, Breeze, Phoenix, Zeus, or something else?
Turns out Blockstream Green doesn't support LNurl, so my nostr profile is incomplete. What's your preferred mobile friendly #lightning wallet? Blue, Breeze, Phoenix, Zeus, or something else? #plebchain
I remember "58K Gang" being mentioned in a nostr:nprofile1qqsxpfwtq34xpnqy9djsg7jjayq3rrst95r4xflje0nqlwjjwhfhrycpzpmhxue69uhkumewwd68ytnrwghszxthwden5te0wfjkccte9eekummjwsh8xmmrd9skctcpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhse6ztph episode back in 2022 or so. :)
Tech support needed. I use Blockstream Green as my #lightning wallet, I copy the receive address into my #nostr profile, and my #amethyst client can't decode the LNurl. Is this a wallet problem or a me problem?
Right now #nostr is heavy on #bitcoin content, which is understandable because the majority of us are Bitcoiners. Who should I follow that isn't posting exclusively Bitcoin content?
A while back I was pitched for a "be your own bank" MLM. After looking into it, it was the essential definition of a ponzi scheme - the entire company would eventually fold when it stopped enrolling new representatives.
Many years ago I looked at the Infinite Banking Concept which also promotes itself as "be your own bank". The problem is that "your" money isn't your money, it's never immediately available because it's held with a mutual life insurance company, and unless you're funding it faster than inflation, you're losing value regardless of the made up projections.
Unless you actually own a bank, THE ONLY WAY to be your own bank is to hold your own assets like precious metals and Bitcoin in self custody, and validate your own transactions.
Anything else is quite simply a scam.
Yesterday I met Chef Dan. It turns out that Dan is quite knowledgeable in macro and micro economics, and no surprise here - Bitcoin.
Which got me thinking: When it comes to financial advice, why should someone listen to Dan? I mean, he's a chef, so he doesn't have any professional or academic qualifications to be offering such advice, right?
The key is to look at his incentives. He doesn't earn a commission from the education he shares, there aren't any consulting fees or hourly charges; there aren't even any kickbacks or bonuses for him. In fact, one could say he has no skin in your financial success game.
That's exactly why you SHOULD listen to him. We Bitcoiners are a different breed of people. We recognize that the government's money system is broken. The government prints out of thin air the same money we have to work for, which steals the value from our time, and forces us to keep working more hours or climbing the corporate ladder for more pay, just to maintain the lifestyle to which we have become accustomed, and that time steals from our family too. And the government taxes is as a form of spending control against us, not as an income source for them. Our incentive is to share what we know so you can have hope in a solid financial future again.
So the next time you're hearing what sounds like financial advice, consider the incentives - the greater the incentives, maybe the less you should listen.
