These are all great points. I'm wondering if it is also relevant that today's world of streaming, where a potential fan has time to find it, watch on own schedule, think about it, and discuss with like-minded, makes previously old "bad" films more likely to be added to the cult list.

Short list the Coreopsis "Uptick" variety. It grows in short (1 to 2 foot tall and wide) clumps and provides powerful color in a spray of flowers early Summer into Fall.
This big group of flowers grew from a second-year clump. Definitely not boring, and, as you can see, the #pollinators like the flowers as well.
Hardy in zones 5 - 9. Low maintenance.

About 120 people lived here permanently, but it is clear that many others came here for special events or ceremonies. See the walls that enclosed rooms (of about 150), but also surrounded 75 gathering places - courtyards and plazas.
Note the ruined opening to an upper alcove. There were nine storage rooms here used as granaries, up where it was cool and dry. Access was by wooden ladders.
