Cliff Palace  (2/🧵 )

About 120 people lived here permanently, but it is clear that many others came here for special events or ceremonies. See the walls that enclosed rooms (of about 150), but also surrounded 75 gathering places - courtyards and plazas.

Note the ruined opening to an upper alcove. There were nine storage rooms here used as granaries, up where it was cool and dry. Access was by wooden ladders.
