Campbell's going to stay there anyway, especially since he's a shoe-in, despite Pallett being very good.
He's been working on this for a while, perfect candidate "never had a want for anything", yet honed in on how cost of living was the biggest issue for all the common people.
And I don't think National want another Epson.

We've one here at the moment (advanced voting started Monday). There is one good thing (heading toward a RW clustercluck of a coalition) and that us it's drowning out rugbee coverage (yawn).
What I can't understand is how the UK repeatedly ends up with who you have.
@29b9efc5
I don't know - announcement of the proposed Space Minister boldly going where no Space Cadet has gone before should inject some well needed R&D into the NZ technology sector.
@Mr Salteena is not quite a gentleman
Clinic I'm at is about to adopt an online portal. Not sure if it's Manage My Elf or not, but I'll be making them aware if the privacy side isn't up to scratch.
@35771893
You can EasyVote now, instead of just voting.
Surprised you received it though, given someone PhotoShopped a big hand over your address. Daft.
Well that has to be a record. Work phone finally set email up. Only 240 hours, give or take a couple, of the processing circle and it's installed.
Brilliant!

Whereas if you park your car in a disability space without a permit because you couldn't find a close park, swear aggressively and profusely at any permit holders who challenge you.
@f4f101c0
Yeah - I made the mistake a few years ago of getting one and it is so sharp it puts almost everything else to shame! My other fave is an ancient 50mm 1.4 - it's good for taking hand held shots in the understory without a tripod. And there is something about the glass then - softer but not in a bad way.
@1653012b@f4f101c0
It's actually one plant, but only the tips are shown. I don't know what plant it is (plant ID is not my strong point), I think it might be from the daisy family.
Okay @35771893 - here's a good one, a coworker in the office I work in has just moved to Invercargill, in part due to the cheaper housing.
But here's the funny bit, she's going to work at a tractor retailer!
@f4f101c0
I should chuck mine on I took today from the Waimakariri.
Of course I had the 55mm lens and spotted more birds than ever. I do have dotterels about 20 pixels wide!
@35771893@3395bc98
We're all old enough to remember past events. '08 was particularly fun - had to reapply as a frontline worker, then had 15% of coworkers lose their jobs.
All were on the SI manager's hit-list.
Was pretty pissed about the situation, but only got second place for a position in Dunedin, so didn't escape Christchurch.
@35771893@3395bc98
I have never seen so many ACT billboards before. Tellingly popping up on the same fence where Stop Three Waters sugns were.
I am sure the coming coalition is going to solve Wellingtons, Aucklands, and Queenstowns issues in 100 days.
As well as shove the poor through the cracks, and install the NZ First Genital Police in every public toilet nationwide.
@35771893
Heartland can be good, but more often than I'd like they are a wee bit stale. This said I'd rather get them than Bluebird - they're fine, but just miss something.
@3395bc98@35771893
Not sure why you two are blessed with Loyal to be honest.
Also noted that the ACT and National billboards around the corner are suffering from acute falloverness.
@29b9efc5
Makes a big change from the usual 20+ legalese document* that 99% of people don't have a hope in Hell of understanding - wish more was like this.
*usually with additional links making the original seem simple in comparison.
How is it in a series or movie, the Government has a GUI of beauty, able to track a POI across a city, whilst communicating with several other databases in real time.
Yet in real life, a Teams meeting with a PowerPoint presentation invariably fails.
@873bb2a6
One to try I remember reading a long time ago is The Seedling Stars by James Blish - it's a collection of four short stories, so nothing on the grand scale of A Mote.
@d68fe0f7
It's like WS marches in the past. Police are there to protect the 13 or so participants.
Since the pandemic though, they have picked up a few cookers and are much emboldened. Nice though Civic didn't have this issue and the grass lives to grow another day.
@d68fe0f7@4ae68e0b
Here, CHC East, the defacing is selective.
As for makeup, I have noticed a lot more ACT ones than previous elections. Same fences as the Stop Three Waters bilboards.
Overall they all seem equally targeted, ACTs by nature too, with the high winds dealing to them. The shame.
Anyone designing electoral billboards should have learned by 2023 that putting the word "country" anywhere us just asking for it.
I will find examples.
Want to give a fucking big ups to the fuckwit who took offence in us photographing her numberplate when parked in a mobility parking space and not entitled to, then had the fall to tell us (with a permit) that she was entitled to do so because no one was using the parks.
Probably because the other people didn't have a fucking permit and didn't have mobility issues?
And a secong big ups for swearing profusely at us because we pointed this out.
Got to admit, it made it much easier contacting the Council to enforce the rewuirements. Should have tried that at the local mall where I've seen people clamped in under 30 seconds.
Stupid fucker.
@348f4b7b
Slightly off topic, but I have observed that in general RW racists claim climate change isn't a thing, so hate electric cars, but also love Tesla because of Musk and how factories are run as in the article.
@79067dd7
Yeah work is promoting it, not sure if it's backed by NZCLW per se. Probably a good thing I've been off as I also have a habit of pointing out uncomfortable truths.
@79067dd7
Ha I had read that earlier and indeed came across a familiar name - definitely an interesting piece.
Adds somewhat on what's been discussed here already on CCP Approved Language Week.
@98af7d33
Not originally from here, but especially as a student I lived close to or within the four avenues and an intetest in both nature and history proved very useful - for once not the bottom of the class, seven.
