Yeah - I made the mistake a few years ago of getting one and it is so sharp it puts almost everything else to shame!  My other fave is an ancient 50mm 1.4 - it's good for taking hand held shots in the understory without a tripod.  And there is something about the glass then - softer but not in a bad way.
