Boujee's introduction to the lure. The lure is basically a piece of leather cut to look similar to a bird which you tie meat on to for the bird to eat. This acts as insurance when the bird isn't recalling. The bird learns that when they see the lure being swung around by the falconer that it always has a large meal on it. This makes it a bigger reward than just coming to the fist for a small tidbit of food. #falconry #hawkstr #hunting

This is my second year as a general so 4th season, although it's really only my third as I had an imprint coops last year that passed away before I got her hunting
Really feeling the "i haven't stacked enough" anxiety with these #bitcoin price pumps. Even worse, the bear market may not even see the prices we're currently at. How does everyone deal with this? #asknostr
I could sell off some other investments but I really don't want to do that. Not because I don't believe in bitcoin, but I am just more comfortable with diversification. I have 3 kids, a wife and a couple dogs that depend on me not screwing it up. I currently get cash back in sats with my shakepay card, make a small DCA every Monday morning automatically, and buy dips when I have a spare 100 bucks. I just have this irrational fear that I'm being left in the dust. I know any sats I buy is significant, I guess I just wish I had started sooner. And the decimals just aren't going up fast enough for me compared to the stupid fiat price. Especially when I'm earning in Canadian pesos 😆
Progressing along to recall outside on the creance with Boujee. A "creance" is basically a long line attached to the jesses. During this session we had another juvenile redtail land in the tree above my son who was filming and watch us which was quite strange. Boujee was unbothered by it and the dog sitting nearby. Flying about 30ft here for her evening meal #falconry #redtailedhawk #hawkstr #dogstr #huntstr #nostr

Yes I do have a mortgage, and debt as well that I'm paying down steadily. I have 3 kids varying in age from 18 months to 17 and preparing for university next year
Been a rough 16 hours. My mother in law had a massive stroke last night. She has a huge blood clot in her brain and at this point they're trying to dissolve it with drugs as her arteries are too clogged and calcified from a life of heavy smoking so they cannot get the tool through. My wife is an absolute mess. Wish us luck, if she pulls through i think this is going to be an extremely long road to recovery.
Mine defaults to "latest with replies" which is my least favourite view because all I see is the replies and not the original post. I prefer "latest" on primal. That being said I tend to use amethyst more lately
I am not sure but it may be my falconry bird this year. 80-90% of birds of prey do not survive their first of life. Falconry is actually a huge conservation win for raptors.
Getting ready for my little guy's buddies to start showing up for his birthday party. Wish me luck! Nothing stresses me out more than other people's kids 🤣
Is it just me or is there a lot less rude comments on #nostr than other social platforms? I don't know if it's true or if just the lack of an algorithm keeps me from seeing it - but it's my favourite thing about this place #asknostr
Changed my profile to a sweet ai image I created that incorporates me as a falconer and my favorite hockey team. Should I be changing my nostr name as well to something other than my real name? Maybe something combining #bitcoin and my #falconry/#hunting passion? #asknostr
To be devil's advocate, I have 3 children. With my oldest daughter we strictly monitored screen time. My son basically has free range of screens. My youngest daughter is only 18 months old so screens aren't really a thing. In my experience with both older kids, excess screen time absolutely correlates with poorer behavior/mood. However, my son is less affected by this... presumably due to having so much access. My oldest is in high school so she's had a phone now for a couple years. I also police how much time she gets with it because when she has it, the world around her ceases to exist. My son isn't that way at all and will focus when you talk to him. My problem now is that my daughter is 17 and I KNOW she needs more access and time with her phone... but any time I give it to her longer, she doesn't get the other stuff done that she needs to. So, I agree I like less screen time, but I also still know nothing lol
