The imperialist #Russian invasion of #Ukraine has brought to the fore the 'Cold War' politics by the West. The West and of course the #USA have claimed a high moral stance coupled with the idea of 'taking action'.
This all goes to the rubbish bin when one notices their complete inaction, coupled with the active support of oppressive regimes around the world
#Israel is one of the best examples of this hypocrisy

@Eòlach I am basically talking about a number of 'left-wing' accounts that are proclaiming to be anything from communist to marxist to orthodox marxist to whatever. This is an observation I started to make when I was researching far-right social media accounts, predominantly in the Greek social media context
@الفجر الباسم some main reasons: huge resources are utilized that are not of much use to local communities once the games are over. I also do not particularly enjoy the cultural politics underlying 'big' professional sports events
